It may not seem like much, but, there are so many types of happiness that come from changing or maintaining your hair. It can be a relaxing service to decompress, it can be a gender-affirming situation, or it can be a way to connect with someone and potentially make a new friend.

Alexcia has been working with us since March after finishing her hairdressing program at Laurier Macdonald. She has been working closely with our other stylists to perfect her skills, slowly gaining more confidence behind the chair. She has now officially been promoted to full time stylist.

Alexcia is a calm and welcoming stylist with an expert level of concentration. Her goal is to help her clients have a relaxing experience, similar to being at a spa so they can disconnect and escape. Some of her favourite services to offer are big transformations, funky colours and hair cuts.
Alexcia is a soft, warm person that is passionate about offering an inclusive/safe space for everyone. She loves thrifting, watching Ghibli movies and most of all her cat Juvia.

Xander finished their hairdressing course in Halifax in 2011, and recently completed the Bellami "All about Wefts" hair extensions course. They love big transformations, specifically vivid colours with unique placements, and bringing your extension dreams to life. They also love a good blonde moment. Xander is our resident nerd who loves tabletop games, plus they are a huge advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and recognition and everyone will feel welcome in their chair. Xander loves chatting and you'll feel like friends in no time.

Many of our clients have noted that we are not “retail aggressive”. To us, this is a compliment. We take pride in carrying a small selection of quality retail products that align with our core values. Coming to the salon is a relaxing luxury, and we don’t believe anyone should feel pressured to spend more money than they need to. This is why we don’t push sales on our clients, and why we don’t use a “level” system between our stylists. We do not believe our stylists must sell retail products in order to advance in their careers or within their “levels”.

Does that mean we lack product knowledge and education? Of course not. When we have a client in our chair with specific hair issues, we always address and discuss them. When clients WANT to purchase products we will always give our educated recommendations. We encourage an honest and clear line of communication with our guests!

Lydia completed her hairdressing program in 2017 and immediately began working as our assistant. She worked closely with our stylists, gradually working her way up to a full time stylist. She is now experienced & skilled, and makes incredible connections with her clientele. She has a particular love for curly or short hair, textured & edgy hair cuts, but can always bang out a killer blowdry or a creative colour. Lydia is an exceptional artist with a free soul who you can always catch dancing around the shop.
