Meet The Salvation Army’s “Moose Jaw Grannies” – The Salvation Army in Canada At The Salvation Army in Moose Jaw, Sask., two beloved volunteers generously donate their time providing meals to the community and working to make a positive impact on people’s lives. The guests they serve have lovingly nicknamed them the Moose Jaw Grannies.

This summer, your generous support allows us to be there for those in need. The Salvation Army helps to
provide essentials, which include:

Was a HOT day for our community BBQ, but great to see so many people come out and enjoy a hotdog and a cool drink.

Many of our neighbours across Canada are struggling to afford food, and the summer months can be especially difficult for families with hungry children. When school programs end, many students go without the meals they rely on to fill in the gaps.

National Doughnut Day, held annually on the first Friday of June, has a fascinating backstory. It was
established in 1938 to honour the courageous Salvation Army's "Doughnut Lassies." These remarkable
women served freshly-baked pastries to soldiers during the First World War, providing comfort and a taste of
home.
Today, the humble doughnut symbolizes our commitment to social services and helping those in need.
This Doughnut Day, June 7, let's extend our gratitude to frontline and essential workers in our communities.
