I thought I would repost this GoFundMe in case anyone was looking for a way to buy a gift for Christmas.

Donating to causes is what we do throughout the year and at Christmas we like to make a donation to a cause instead of buying needless gifts.

Please do consider a donation, it does not matter how small as it all counts towards helping my friend Raed Arouki and his lovely wife and two children.

He has fled two homes that have been bombed and in his third refuge trying to get through each day without more loss.

I am a humanist and there is no room here for political or religious views, I’m just one person helping another kind human being.

Hello everyone

Guy and I are going to list our sweet log cabin this year for sale. We have loved the 16 years we have been it’s Castellans and have really enjoyed sharing this special property with so many of our Airbnb guests. As our kids are flying the coop we want to be able to travel more possibly buy another spot in Revelstoke.

Our cabin can easily remain a part time Airbnb and your own vacation getaway as the income covers it’s costs easily. We have amazing people who maintain our cabin and the gardens with love since 2016 when we first decided to try Airbnb’ing it.

We sit on one third of an acre of forested land that has a peekaboo lake view in the winter and if you ever wanted to add a second floor you would have sweeping lake views.

Too many amazing features to list however I will start to put something together, we would consider selling furnished except for my precious books, some art and a couple pieces of furniture but she could be turnkey and I’ll give you our Airbnb listing which has been steady year round since 2016.

Surprisingly we have from 15th November to mid December available at the cabin.

It’s a beautiful and brisk time of the year here in Nakusp. The summer crowds have gone and the village is settling in for the winter season.

Our natural hot springs are even more delicious when it’s cold outside and coming back to a warm crackling fire at the cabin is perfect.

Excellent fishing on the lake and the trails around the village and surrounding area are beautiful during this time.

STUNNING! When we walked in, my children’s jaws dropped, they said that they felt like they were “in a story-book”. The place is beyond adorable, an enchanting cabin, really. Rustic charm, cozy couches, well maintained wood stove so no smoke blew back in the cabin when I lit the fire. The space was clean and there is extra bedding available should you need more blankets for chilly nights. Wi-Fi is fast, well stocked kitchen with everything you need in order to make meals. Location is quiet and feels very private while still being walking distance to a grocery store and restaurants. While we were there, it was unusually cold for May. I used only the wood stove to heat the cabin, and found it to be the perfect temperature with only a fire. I have not lived with a wood stove for heat in some years and I missed chopping wood and kindling. It is one of my favourite things to do and it made for an even more enjoyable stay. The mattresses were all very comfortable, unusual for an airbnb! With my chronic pain I don’t find many beds comfortable, this mattress was one of the best I have slept on in an airbnb or hotel. No, the place isn’t modern, you will not find fancy counters or stainless steel appliances, but you will find absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. I loved our little staycation, it was the perfect home base for myself, my husband and our children.the place is perfect:)

If you are looking for an "old school" place that oozes with authentic homey-ness, this might be your spot. Four separate beds was perfect for our family of 5. The outdoor area was perfect for hanging out and entertaining. Indoor space and comfort exceeded our expectations. Just by looking at how it is decorated, you can tell that the owners put a lot of love into this place. Well done and recommended. read less

Even on a drizzly day the cabin always looks so sweet, the flowers are late this spring and just starting to get on with it.

We don’t have much available for July and August and most weekends are booked now till September but we do have some openings if you want to check dates out please go to our Airbnb page.
