Van Island Pin Slayers: 5PU Pro League Team

As this 5PL season is upon us (first matches on September 29!), it’s time to introduce a new member of the Van Island Pin Slayers. We say goodbye to Don Campbell and welcome 2024’s C5 Open female Rookie of the Year, Mikayla Eby!

Sadly we also say goodbye to our host centre, Brechin Lanes 5-Pin Bowling Centre, after our September 29 matches. Huge thanks to Ray and the Brechin crew for your support for our first two seasons. But we are grateful and excited to start the next chapter at our new host centre, Duncan Lanes.

Announcing a change to the Pin Slayers roster this year. Last season Trent Aichele had to leave us mid-season, and this season Hank Krahn is not returning. While we miss them both, we are excited to introduce Nathan Wymore to the Van Island Pin Slayers! Looking forward to the skill and enthusiasm this Victoria boy will bring to the team!

The Pin Slayers are looking forward to our second season with the 5PL! First matches are this Sunday Sept 24.

Huge congrats to our superstar Morgan Theedom for qualifying 3rd in Open singles qualifying and advancing to the stepladder on Sunday. The Pin Slayers will be cheering you on!!

Not exactly the finish we were hoping for (could we have set a record for 3-pins? 🤦‍♀️) but the inaugural season for the Van Island Pin Slayers was a ton of fun for the team and we WILL be back next year!

Not the result we were going for today but we never stopped working hard as a team. Now we get some time to regroup with our next matches not until March 19. But we’ll be watching to see how things shape up in both divisions in the next three months, while working towards our comeback! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Pin Slayers!
