Just like that my time at VIU has been come to a fascinating end. With 5 years of Charlie lore left behind for the presidents and princes of tomorrow. I beat up old men, I fought off zombies, I solved a murder mystery I clowned around and I got booed and verbally assaulted on stage. I came I saw, I loved, lost and conquered everything I set out to do when I walked through those doors 5 years ago. I made friends with an absolutely grand class of people, and whether good, bad or downright criminal I feel I have left an impression on all those that went on this wonderful journey with me. Do I wish I could have done things differently? With every fiber of my being however what’s done is done and my reign is over. As i write this the votes have come in and to an outstanding 100% vote of confidence placed by the club members we have our New God kings from the land of thespians. I must congratulate Riley De Ruiter and Bryce Crichton as satyrs future. I was going to wait until Monday however we got the required amount of votes in for the two that showed their awesome amount of preparation. Thank you for everything, my council although it may have been rocky yall at one point In time were the people I trusted most. Even after this year I still hold that trust in you, to the first years you all have put in so much effort where it has mattered most, and its simple to say that the future of our program holds strong as ever. To the second years, you guys have grown so much in the past 365 days and you should be proud. The road is a long one but I’m willing to bet I’ll see some of you on the red carpet. Finally to my future self when things look dark look back here and remember that although brief in the grand scheme of things the theatre will always be your home. Running alongside DeRuiter, we have Bryce Chrichton for the first time in satyrs recent history. we'll have a strong Co-President operation

Riley de Ruiter is a third year student at VIU. During his time here, he has been an active participant within the theatre and of the Satyr Players Club. Riley has worked on several shows, including two Main Stage pieces in The Visitor and A Good Person. As well as several Satyr run productions, including The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 2021 and 2022, Burlesque: Stage Beauties, The One-Act Festival in Gael, and the independent production of The Girl With No Heart. The importance of communication and accountability can not be understated for him. His time in the theatre has shown him what is expected of him in all aspects, from on stage acting to interactions with faculty and fellow students. He promises to uphold these expectations on himself, and on everyone involved in the Satyr Players Club for the 2023-24 season.

Heyo people of satyr! The time for the election has come, it’ll be this Friday in the studio. I am still getting the time for it. In the past specifically this year the election was a gigantic thing that everyone was stressed over for no reason so I’m hoping that the passing of the torch will be a little more relaxed this time around with a less dramatic election process. I will still allow for Speeches, Presentations, Slideshows as I know some of you have started on that. I already have candidates that have come to me written down however the Satyr Executive spots are open for all. Under the rare circumstance that a candidate run unopposed it’ll require a minimum of 50% or 10 votes depending on how many people were to show up. Just so we can give everyone a chance to vote I will be getting a bio and headshot that will be posted on the Instagram page as I get them, it’ll give the people that won’t be there a chance to send in pre registered votes. Depending on our time slot and the amount of people running everyone will get a chance to present/talk about what they wish to do as Satyrs president.

The vote itself will take place over the weekend, we will live stream and video the presentations made by our candidates to which you will be able to pick and choose your very next president.

The Presentations itself will take place tommorow from 10 am onwards then the votes will be taking place online up until Monday afternoon. To which our current President will make the announcement and pass the keys over to the future of Satyr Players.

It's official, the new president and vice president have been chosen
President Charlie Lincoln and Vice President Emily Dunigan are ready to see what we can do with satyr! The rest if the council will be chosen at a later date

So you might be wondering what's going on this year. We'll look no further we have 2 candidates for president one just so happens to be the Voice actor, Combat Choreographer, Prince of misfits, and king of the freebirds Charlie lincoln, followed by his running mate for vice president The Author of a future best selling fantasy series, The Starring lead in Leons "The Visit", absolutely incredible makeup artist and married to a literal bear Emily dunigan!!!
