Anyone living near Grimston Park have a camera and be willing to check their footage?
The New Westminster Police Department is asking the public for information or CCTV footage that may help in locating stolen equipment belonging to the New West Little League.
Between January and April thieves made off with a large green steel storage box which the league used to store baseball equipment. The box is Greenlee brand, measuring approximately 4 feet long by 2 feet deep by 2.5 feet high. The box was stolen from Grimston Park. The box and its contents are valued at approximately $3,000 and include baseball bats and bases some of which are marked with “NWBA”.
“These thieves are hurting our community by targeting local sports,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “Whatever the reason behind someone wanting to do this, they need to realize they are depriving our youth, our athletes, and our community as a whole with these thefts.”
Residents living near Grimston Park are asked to check CCTV for footage of the thefts. If you have any information you believe may further this investigation you’re asked to call the New Westminster Police Department and reference file number 24-80122.
That’s a baseball wrap!
NWBA spring season is officially coming to a close.

So 👋 hey, 👋 baseball friends and family, let’s come out and give it one last baseball cheer for all to hear 🤩
Ps. The weather is set to be ☀️AMAZING ☀️
It wasn’t the tournament we had hoped for, but it was the tournament we got.
The weather was ☔️ NOT ⛈️on our side this weekend for the Hyack Majors Tournament, forcing a premature shutdown today due to inclement weather conditions.
But still, our baseball “elders” managed a few days of games before the shutdown.
And those games are the kinds of games that legendary tales are made from.
Rain?
Pushaw 🙄
Shmain!
Dear weather, you got nothing on these kids!!
Huge props to the organizers and all the volunteers that put in a great number of hours to pull this event off.
We appreciate you 🤩
Tournaments, tournaments everywhere!
And this was ours!
A huge success New West!
Well done players.
Well done coaches.
Well done parents.
And ps: HUGE happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas who found the mom joy at the field today 😍
⚾️
It’s tournament day 2 and we’ve got sales for you!!
Find our dedicated board member Kimberley and other parent volunteers at the sales tent right in front of Justin Morneau Field for all the New West baseball gear you never knew you needed!!
Can’t make it to the field; head over to the online shop via the QR code in the pics!
New West: let’s be the loudest cheerleaders out there 📣💥😄
Day 1 minors tournament part 2:
These kids gave it their all!
They left it all on the base!
And when the day was done, most all walked away with smiles on their face.
Well done players, we’ll done 🤩
Dear umpires,
Thank you!
Without you, our games would not happen 😊
Dear everyone else in the baseball community,
As we prepare for tournament season, let’s all remember to appreciate and give thanks to our young umps.
For many, this is their first job.
For many, it is super nerve wracking to get out there with strong voices and confident calls.
But these kids are doing it.
And they’re doing it with panache.
Let’s applaud that 🤩👏🤩
⚾️
And this is why we baseball!
The team:
A crew of supportive friends from start to finish … or, from hit to home run 🤩
Rain, rain, go away ...
New West Baseballers want to play!!

It’s for a great cause AND helps you clear out some clutter!
Win-Win 🤩
A heartfelt thanks to ALL of our incredible volunteers 🤩
Dear parents, past parents, non parents who just love everything baseball, siblings, high school students, college students, and anyone else who puts in the time.
We 👀 see 👀 you and we appreciate everything you do 😍
Without our volunteers, New West Baseball would not operate.
Whether it’s our coaches, team managers, scorekeepers, pitch counters, tournament organizers, clothing sellers, field prep and take down, umpire trainers, and everything else in between.
You all play an important role in the fulfillment of our baseball-loving kids enjoyment.
So from NWBL to you:

Yesterday was a PLAY BALL kind of day, and so is today ☀️

This is the kind of weather that baseball was made for!!
