A descriptive name we came up with while trying to figure out what to call it because it’s so unique!😆

Inspired by my last copper color post!

Aveda treatments were used during the lifting process to keep the hair healthy and strong!

Let’s break it down
Lighten hair with a blonde icing clarifying mixture from the dark demarcation line to the ends of the hair.
15 min process to get warmth exposed.
Wash and dry.
Then apply 4 different formulas starting at the roots to balance out the canvas to get 1 even color.
This process took a total of 5 hours with a haircut and treatment. Let’s take into account the amount of hair she has too please! 😂
Using a color safe shampoo and conditioner, we also added in the copper color depositing mask for at home maintenance, we also scheduled 8 weeks out for a root touch up and gloss(toner) refresh.

What a difference! Can you see the damage in the before pic? The whole middle section of hair was broken due to hot tools. A good haircut and a color refresh fixed her right up!

Let’s talk about hair journey!

I want to start off by saying I’m showing vulnerability because the first session isn’t my best work, so I’m putting myself out there to show that no stylist is perfect, even though most of us only show our best work on Instagram.

So she came to me wanting to go as light as possible with previous black hair color history 😅 (talk about being stressed out!😆) with how long her hair is, this took about 6 hours. We lightened the ALL her hair! Then toned it 2X. The 2nd photo is the result of the first session. (I wish we took a photo before we started!)
we both knew this wasn’t a perfect end result and I was sad as I tried my best. 😔 What she needed was another toner and we didnt have the time.
I suggested another apt but her schedule was busy, So weeks passed by and I get a msg from her saying she loves how her hair faded! 😲 I was shocked, this normally doesn’t happen 🤪
So 2 months later, she books an apt for a root touch up and haircut.
I also snuck a toner in there to add shine and create a more even canvas.
We both love now, 🥰 so it’s a happy ending 😊

Sun kissed balayage on natural color. She comes in about every 6 months for refreshing the color. We’ll bring up the balayage, brighten her face frame and clean up her haircut.
I toned her with Redken shades EQ 010Gi+ 010N + 09V
We also used K18 treatments to keep her hair strong and healthy!

Zaydens 1st birthday on March 30th
He’s crawling and couch surfing.
He has 4 teeth and there’s not much he can’t eat with 4 teeth! 😆
He’s waving hi and bye, blows kisses and likes to clap for himself
He’s always happy and smiling, unless he’s being put to sleep lol
When he’s tired, he starts biting everyone 😅
EVERYTHING is still going in the mouth right now.
Happy 1st birthday my baby! Welcome to toddlerhood🥹

Zaya’s 3rd birthday was March 20th
This past year she became a big sister, and loves her new role.
She went to strong start at school for the first time.
She saw her first movie in theatre, it was Trolls 3.
She brings little Mini with her everywhere.
She’s smart and is listening when you don’t think she is.
She’s officially a threenager. 🥰

Zayden at 10 months.
He’s got 4 teeth already
Started crawling at 10 months! Oh yes I’m in trouble now.
Still loves being sung to sleep
Still loves his baths and toy turtle to play with.

My happy baby is a 20 pound mamas boy.
So I love that I can put him to sleep using the rocking chair 😅
His favourite toy is anything that isn’t a toy. I just don’t get it lol
He just got his 2nd tooth a few days ago! 🦷
He had his first real haircut with me this month. 💇🏽
He’s a very social boy and loves to smile, just don’t bother him when he’s watching Ms Rachel, you don’t exist. 😆

My boy is getting so big I don’t know if by 12m he will fit on this blanket properly hahaha
He loves being held after drinking his milk.
He can put the ball though the hoop in his favourite play place: the ball pit.
He would rather eat pouches than homemade food 🤨
Whenever he smiles, the tongue comes out too!
He’s very social and likes attention, he will grab at you when he wants you!

Because we put Zaya in a pumpkin 2 years ago, of course we had to only make it fair and do the same for Zayden!

Half a year goes by fast, so fast that this post is about 2 weeks late. I lose track of days on mat leave, and the days are busy. Yet somehow it seems I get nothing done.
Zayden is all smiles when he sees familiar faces, such a happy boy. Unless he’s hungry or tired. Then he means business.
He already protests when you take away something he wants to put in his mouth.
He’s grown quite a liking to foods now. You may see strawberry on this shirt.
He loves to sleep by cuddling.
He loves being naked.
He especially loves being naked because he knows it’s bath time soon.
