The ZZ Plant is nicknamed Fortune Tree and is believed to bring good fortune and luck with its thick, textured leaves. The shiny foilage, along with its unique feathered pattern, makes this baby an awesome choice for those wishing to welcome wonderful vibes inside your home. 😇

What matters is progress, not perfection.

The baby buds grow into stunning flowers unlike any other plant. The colour, aromas, touch, taste vary greatly from plant to plant; with each one developing a different set of terpines than the next! ☺

These high maintenance plants require a great deal of patience and precision especially during flowering....the plant doctor works the hardest with these guys. 💪🏾👨🏾‍⚕️

Every plant has it's own requirements to thrive, and watching a bulb or seed or rhizome develop into something magical is really what plants are all about. The perfect flower never happens, nature interferes with a lot, and life of course throws it's own curveballs, but the passion for what you love keeps you going. Of course the perfect flower would be wonderful to see, but we find joy watching our babies love the lives we provided for them. 🥰

We have fresh veggies galore, and are so excited about our harvest this year. Last year we had Tomatoes and Herbs growing, and this year with our expansion, we have grown a lot more. Our harvest this year will include corn, green beans, tomatoes, herbs, eggplant, scotch bonnet, cayenne, garlic chives, onions, scallions.....this list keeps going!! 🍅🫑🌶🌽🍆🍋

Less than 2 months to go until the flowers are ready for harvesting. 🤗
These plants have started to outgrow their 35 gallon cloth pots 😳, getting taller and more bushy everyday. The doctor loves everything BIG.

We are always dying to see Dhalias! 👀 🤭
Each variety is completely unique, and each flower possess different colours, patterns and sometimes shapes! They have a dramatic flair and they show it....taking their sweet time for a big unveil. 🤦🏾‍♀️😁 we can't wait to see this flower's reveal.

SHE IS READY! 🤗 🤵🏾‍♀️ 🥳

Our crazy Cayenne pepper measured 9 inches long and 1 inch in diameter! 😍🤩

The first picture we posted was of a green, less thick Cayenne a few weeks ago, and we mentioned we would be testing the ripening process at room temperature (with a previously picked pepper) & refrigerated temperature (with the 8 inch long pepper). The first pepper was picked when green and sat at room temperature; the second and longer pepper was picked right before it entirely turned red and was refrigerated. HOWEVER, the refrigerated pepper's ripening process was halted when it was put in colder temperatures, so we placed it in room temperature instead.

The INTERESTING thing is this: our green pepper shriveled up (see 4th picture) before it was able to ripen at room temperature; but our red pepper continued to firm and deepen its colour.....after about 2 weeks at room temperature, our shriveled green Cayenne begun to ripen! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Next harvest we will wait until all Cayenne peppers are big, bold and RED! ❤ 💫

We found this mini experiment very helpful in determining the best way to ripen Cayennes (& growing enormous ones) 🤭.

FRUITS OF LABOUR 🍅🥒🌶

The first mini haul of veggies from our personal garden. ☺

Everything was grown from seeds. ...the Scotch Bonnet Pepper seeds were harvested from last years peppers and are 100% true to seed. Of course, the doctor has these peppers absolutely scorching 🥵 ...the smell of the green ones gets your glands going! ....Can't wait to try the red one 😅😵

Our Sunrise Bumblebee tomatoes ripened to a beautiful striped red and orange, and are sweet, juicy and flavourful. 😋

We are waiting for some more green beans to give them a try, but the texture is crisp and tight...they're going to be super crispy! 👌🏾

It's a terrific Thursday for Marigolds! 🤩

We wanted to share the wonderful Marigolds we have unravelled this summer. Each flower unravels its petals at different times depending on when the flower buds open, making the Marigold flowers appear vastly different from each other. We have had the pleasure of watching each petal unfold into something bold and magical. 💫

Around the world Marigolds mean something different, but its pureness & colours are valued by all. ❤ 💛

We absolutely can't wait to see these beauties! These dhalias look so strange, yet beautiful when they're about to open.....only a few more days until they unveil themselves. 👩🏾‍🌾 🤩

MAMMOTH. 😳😳😳

For the first time we grew a Mammoth Sunflower this year....and absolutely worth it! 💯 The rich golden yellow is unlike any other sunflower we've seen before. Everyday the colour gets bolder and the head is almost so big you can see the pollen in the flower. 🌻

Almost all the leaves are a foot long and 7 inches in diameter, and they go so high they seem to shield the flower. The colour is breathtaking, although not all the petals came through perfectly, the bright yellow has become a northern star in our garden. The Sunflower is just under 10 FEET tall with its stem turning brown & trunk - like.

We wanted to share the wonderful positive vibe this mammoth brings. 💛 ❤
