Black Water Farms

The C.E.O was out checking on his cattle today.

His first stop was to check in on the bulls and see how they are doing. They are still growing like weeds and are as sweet as ever. They enjoy giving the CEO kisses.

Then he went out to the pasture to look in on all the new calves that we have had born this last month. We officially have our first longhorn babies born on the farm. We have 5 on the ground right now and are expecting 2-3 more!

We have one of our beef babies on the ground that decided to make her appearance nice and early at the end of January and we are currently waiting on one more to be added around June.

It’s the most wonderful time of year!

It’s time for our hometown fair! South Mountain fair is on this weekend!

We are so excited to watch our sponsored Bull rider Troy Dooley compete this weekend in the BlackCreek Rodeo Co. that is on both Saturday evening and Sunday Afternoon! It’s great family fun for all ages. Come out and enjoy lots of local talent in the ring.

Have you met Steve? We would like to introduce you to one of the newest members on the farm! Steve the Texas longhorn. Steve’s horns rang is approximately 8-9 feet wide and he still has growing to do! We can’t wait to see how big he gets in the next couple years until he finishes out his growing and watch him spend his days in the field with his friends! The CEO and daddy spent yesterday morning reviewing footage from this weekends bull fighting and riding clinic. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to attend this weekend with our sponsored Bull rider and Sponsored Bull Fighter .brogan.904. Happy Canada Day from our Farm to you!

Calving season 2023 officially ended this week!

We are fortunate enough this season again to finish the year off with one little Heifer and one Little Bull. We would like to officially introduce you to them!

Photo 1 is our little Heifer Ruby. Ruby is out of our Shorthorn Angus cross Rainbow (Bo) and a Bucking Bull daddy. Ruby came out feisty and ready to rock. She was up leaping around 45 minutes after being born. We can’t wait to watch her grow up and see all of her future offspring!

Photo 2 is of our little Bull Calf Oakley. Oakley is out of our Poster Child Bear (Black Angus) and the same Bucking Bull as Ruby. We have high hopes for this one. He is already showing promise of following in daddy’s footsteps in the Rodeo world. He is only 3 days old now and loves to kick up his heels around the pasture. The future is bright for this one.

Well it’s been a busy couple weeks at the farm!

We would like to introduce everyone to our first born this year. Number 29- Kash Money! This boy was long awaited and momma let us wait and wait for over 10 days! Safe to say we are totally and underly in love with this sweet boy! We are soaking up the cuddles until he realizes that he is going to be a big Bull!

Next we would like to introduce you to Jack -number 42. We bough Jack to join Kash and play around the farm and become the best brothers! These two are two peas in a pod around the farm! Truly enjoying watching them run around and play together.

We would officially like to introduce you to ‘Pearl’ our wild child. This little girl came as a complete surprise to us! Momma showed no signs of her coming any time soon at 7Am and by 12 this little girl had arrived! Both momma and Baby were completely happy and healthy! With Pearl’s arrival this concludes our babies for the ‘22 season. Stay tuned for shipping our almost 2 year olds off to have a little fun with future baby daddy this month!

We also welcomed 6 little chicks to the farm to help bring in some further home grown items with our own eggs later this summer! We have loved watching these ladies grow up over the last couple weeks! We can’t wait to add 6 more chickens in approximately 2 weeks along with a couple turkeys and ducks!

We would also like to give a warm welcome to these two men who joined the farm this weekend! Meet Doc and Woody! Two mini Studs that we will be working with to hopefully get backed so we can do some pony rides, pulling a cart and who knows they are gentle but feisty they might make the perfect little rodeo buddies for some kids in the area wanting to play and learn!

We have an amazing bull rider that is an all around great cowboy that I’m sure would LOVE to be there and helping out the next generation of riders out!
