So, here's some fun bird facts to hopefully help get you more interested in these fascinating creatures:
↠ the common Loon is the provincial bird of Ontario.
↠ Blue Jay's mimic hawks! That's right, among the variety of sounds they make, one is that of a hawk. It is thought they do this to trick other birds.
↠ Bald Eagles make the biggest nest, which of course makes sense, seeing as to how it's the biggest bird in the province.
↠ wild turkeys can fly!
↠ Peregrine Falcons can reach speeds over 300km/hr in a stoop.

Somewhere along the way, a new year became synonymous with resolutions and setting goals. Which itself isn't the issue.

Today the sun crosses the celestial equator in a southerly direction, giving us almost equal amounts of sunlight and darkness, and the beginning of fall.

For many, today is a day of celebration, and gratitude.

Did you know, by being able to identify plants and animals we form a stronger connection to nature? By getting to know our community, we can better appreciate and understand where we live (and visit).
Just like we get to know our neighbors, it's important to get to know our wildlife friends.

Field guides are an awesome reference for pretty well everything, from rocks and minerals to plants and trees.

This is of year is just magical, isn't it?!

Ontario is home to so many gorgeous wildflowers, which are so beneficial to pollinators and other wildlife.

With it being , why not spend some time among through wildflowers? Watch the bees buzz from flower to flower. See the butterflies rest their wings and drink the sweet nectar. Look closely and find beetles scurrying up and down the stems and under leaves.
Maybe you'll be fortunate enough to spot a caterpillar or chrysalis.

Did you know these awesome flowers are amazing for gardens too? Since the majority are perennials they will come back every year. And because they grow here naturally, they need very little care!
