Just a reminder, we're still on hiatus and this account is only occasionally monitored. We hope to have an update in the next couple months.

The city is looking to dump 1000 luxury condos at the old hospital site in one of the poorest parts of town. Please write to tell them that this development should not go ahead without a significant amount of subsidized housing and community supports for the existing neighborhood residents who are struggling with extreme poverty, homelessness, drug use, and mental health issues.

If the current developer is unwilling to build for the existing community, then the city should expropriate the land and wait for an appropriate developer.

The city and region both recently declared a "crisis" of homelessness, addiction, and mental health. Back those words up with action and say NO to more luxury condos that none of us can afford!

The business community is popping up fake houses during a housing and homelessness crisis. Lots of people would legit live in these things that will probably be destroyed in two months. Pretty fu***ng tonedeaf.
