Today is Indigenous Veterans Day 💜 On Saturday, November 4, Niagara Parks honoured Indigenous Veterans Day by hosting the Valour and Victory Ceremony at the Landscape of Nations Memorial at Queenston Heights Park.

This year marked the 5th anniversary of this annual event that recognizes the contributions and sacrifices made by Six Nations and Native Allies who helped secure victory at the Battle of Queenston Heights during the War of 1812 and the 7th anniversary of the Landscape of Nations Memorial.

Valour and Victory aligns with Niagara Parks’ ongoing commitment to reconciliation, education and the preservation of Indigenous history. As we take time to observe Indigenous Veterans Day and Treaties Recognition Week, we encourage everyone to continue the conversation of truth-telling and reconciliation with the Indigenous people of Turtle Island.
