Headaches and Trigger Points!💥

Trigger Points from the neck can create headache-like pain. These are commonly referred to as myofascial pain referral patterns that each muscle in your body has when we have active and/or latent Trigger Points. Keep swiping to see these different types of patterns and muscles!

More electro-acupuncture!!⚡️⚡️

Specifically, I'm stimulating the brachioradialis muscle on myself. Brachioradialis is one of the superficial muscles on the forearm that helps flex the elbow as well as assisting pronation and supination of the wrist.

When stimulating it's motor point, the actions of this muscle is apparent. This is may be a useful point to stimulate for any lateral elbow pain.

📣 Daily habits can help stave off headaches! 🤯

The 3 easy ways to help alleviate your headaches are:

1️⃣ Drink your water
2️⃣ Get a good night's sleep
3️⃣ Take breaks from slouching

This paired with some form of manual therapy and daily exercise will help keep those headaches at bay.

📣 If you struggle with aches and pains in your knees, this post is for you!

The knees are modified hinge joints that supports us in weight bearing while we move. Since the knee plays an important role in many of our daily activities, it's susceptible to injury due to many different factors.

↪️ overuse or increase load demand on the knees
↪️ wear and tear of knee cartilage
↪️ fatigue in an athletic setting
↪️ Weight gain
↪️ Disproportionate strength between quads and hamstrings

Just to name a few.

There's a few easy ways to mitigate knee issues and improve function of the joint.

1️⃣ Maintain a healthy body weight
2️⃣ Have proper mobility in the hips and ankles
3️⃣ Strengthen muscles around the knees and hips

1️⃣ Stretch and mobilize your hips
2️⃣ Increase isometric strength in your core (example of exercises are curl-ups, side Planks, and bird dogs)
3️⃣ Walk daily
