Volunteer Builders
This year we are building at Sparrow Lake Camp, from June 4 to June 7. We will be working on: cabin upgrades, stairs, decks, building maintenance.
There is lots to be done! Each year, Volunteer Builders strives to build on our own organization's foundation so others in the community can participate in and benefit from the service, experience and projects we provide. Volunteer Builders was incorporated on January 11, 2001 as a non-for-profit organization. Our central purpose is to design and build at least one structure each year for a worthy

Volunteer Builders Board and Executive have been closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 pandemic and have made the decision to postponed the 2020 Spring Build until further notice. This decision was made from an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our volunteer builders’ community. We will continue to monitor the situation, in hopes of being able to gather again soon proceeding with a build as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding as we try to do our part to help flatten the curve. Stay healthy, be well and hopefully we’ll see you all again soon.
With the well-being of our VB members & our community in mind we have made the difficult, but important decision to postpone the upcoming Euchre Tournament.
VB will reach out to those who already e-transferred their deposit to work out a refund. We look forward to rescheduling the Euchre Tournament as soon as possible.
Please note, we will continue to monitor the situation and will make any necessary decisions regarding the 2020 build soon. We will keep all members and subscribers informed through email and on our social media channels.
In the meantime, take care of yourself and each other.

Every year, VB decides on a theme for the build weekend. The theme will come to life on the volunteer t-shirts and on the Saturday night celebration dinner and party!

VBers Nick & Jenna attended the 2020 Ontario Camps Association Conference yesterday.
They attended to represent VB, catch up with previous camp recipients, to build relationships and make connections with potential future build recipients.

What a better way to start the year than with VB's first event of the DECADE! what you ask? The second annual Board Game and Potluck night! See below for details

It is with great sadness that we have lost another great Volunteer Builder.
Ben loved coming to the build, working hard and playing hard. He had a tough battle with cancer and will be truly missed.

Day 1 & 2 are well underway! We’ve got foundation being poured for the new building and the roof being built!
Kitchen is hard at work, feeding all volunteers on site already.
We’re excited to welcome the rest of the volunteers as the week continues!

On May 3, Volunteer Builders lost one of our own, Jamie Bosomworth. While spending time at his family cottage in Muskoka, Jamie passed away.
Jamie was more than just a volunteer that showed up to each build. He was a dedicated member of our Board, having been the Strategy Director for the past couple years. He had a special joy for life and brought that to life at each year’s build. His generosity impacted many lives and he will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Jamie's life will take place on Saturday, May 11th between 2 and 6 p.m. at the family home - 164 Stibbard Ave, Toronto, ON M4P 2C3. The family has extended a welcome to all Volunteer Builders that wish to attend and pay their respects.
