We're very proud of these Karateka who crushed their Grading on Saturday. Congrats to everyone who participated, and thank you to the Black Belts who helped make the event a memorable one. We added a new Black Bet to our ranks yesterday as well. Congrats Sempei Rahul, you did exceedingly well and certainly made us very proud.

I Slipped on some ice while walking my dog yesterday, she pulled, I slipped, did a pretty good break fall, and managed to get back up totally unscathed. Although I did leave a pretty cool snow angel on the ground, and funny thing is... NO IMPRINT FROM MY HEAD in the snow. I tucked my chin in, rolled, and used my arms to break my fall. All instinctively, and painlessly. The training works!!!

3.5 hours of exciting tournament sparring action. 7 Divisions, with 60 participants doing battle. Its not easy competing in front of a crowd, but you crushed it! Well done everyone. You made us extremely proud. Congrats to all the athletes who competed. And a special thanks to Sempei's Jason, John, Jacob, Logan, and Fatima who helped run the ring, and to the score keepers, Sensei Trish, Katherine, and Kelly, without you these events could not take place. Our Next tournament will be the Awesome Kata Event!

2 Super Exciting Gradings on the weekend. 30 Students earned new darker belts. Congrats to all those who attended and put their skills to the test. Its not easy being on display in front of a dojo full of on-lookers, but you rocked it...We're very proud of your accomplishments. PLUS, we now have 4 new Black Belts who managed to work their way through a tough and time consuming Brown Belt and then a Black Belt candidate curriculum. Way to Go Sempei John, Sempei Jacob, Sempei Fatima, Sempei Logan...Well done!!!

Congrats to all the Warriors who earned their new belts on Saturday. We're very proud of your accomplishments...WELL DONE!!! Another life skill unlocked... All new Yellow Belts now have the super fun task of learning how to sew, as they've received the "coveted" Street Smart patch they must sew on themselves.
