We are almost ready for our first day of giving to our clients. Over the holiday season, we help hundreds of women and children, thanks to your generous donations. We are not done yet, though. We are accepting gifts up to December 22nd. Right now, we are in particular need of gifts for 5 to 10 year olds and teenagers, and we would appreciate some more craft kits. Thank you!

Today is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Public commemoration of the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. Visit https://nctr.ca/ for more information.

An absolutely fabulous morning at the Mickey McCue Memorial Golf Tournament where every golfer donated toys and gifts for our clients (yes, we are thinking about Christmas already over here). Thanks to Matt for organizing this beautiful event and choosing us

When people think of concussion, they think sports. But violence by an intimate partner is the cause of at least 290,000 concussions among Canadian women and girls each year. That’s more than 7,000 for every 1 NHL concussion. We partnered with former Olympian and NHL player, Trevor Linden to help bring attention to this staggering statistic as we call for increased research, better pathways for concussion treatment and more support for people who have experienced brain injury as a result of intimate partner violence.
