WE’RE BACK! 🩵
We have officially reopened for the season, & there has been so much positive feedback all around.
We have had 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 families asking us about waitlists for our 2024 Day Camps. At this time, they are very full. Families on the waitlist will be automatically notified via email if a spot opens up for your camper(s). Please note that we do have a few LT/CIT spots available in Week 6 (August 6-9), Week 8 (August 19-23), & Week 9 (August 26-30).

We’re so excited to share that PHILLY will be joining the Senior Staff team as our Events Coordinator this year!
Not only will Philly be mapping out this year’s quest for the Camp Cup, she will also be supporting the introduction of a new LOW ROPES course that’s coming to property into our summer programs! 🎉🪢

JOB OPPORTUNITY: WATERFRONT COORDINATOR 🛟
This Senior Staff position is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our Waterfront Centre on-site. Youth receive paddling instruction in canoes 2x per week from our waterfront team, comprised of our Waterfront Coordinator & two (2) Waterfront Assistants. This role begins one (1) week prior to camp opening — June 24 — to assist with planning & set-up. Throughout the rest of the season, this position oversees the implementation of all canoeing activities & mentors the Waterfront Staff at the site.

Another summer camp season has officially come & gone. 44 days spent in the beautiful outdoors among the most enthusiastic & thoughtful kiddos. 🌤️
We are equally grateful for our families who have been growing up with us over the past decade as we are for our families who have just joined this community in recent years. Thank you so much for being here.

Summer Camp 2023 is officially OPEN! 🎉
We kicked off Week 1’s “Camp Minecraft” yesterday & the positive energy is keeping spirits high through this first heatwave of the season!
We have been so impressed by the kindness & friendliness of our first group of campers (all 177 of them!!). Their gratitude & appreciation all day long on Day 1 was off the charts & we look forward to the rest of our week with them! ☀️💧🧢🌳

About Us
Camp Samac’s co-ed summer programs are operated by Scouts Canada. Each program is open to ALL children in the communities we serve! Come join us for a wilderness experience in the heart of Durham Region!
Fun, adventure, learning new skills and creating memories -- this is what Camp Samac Summer Programs promises to deliver to each camper. Whether it is your first time attending an outdoor camp program or you are a seasoned camper looking for a challenge, Camp Samac offers something for all ages & abilities!
You can choose from 4 different programs at Camp Samac. The Day Camp is for youth aged 5-13. Our daily activities include swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing, outdoor skills (i.e. fire building, shelter building, knot tying) and environmental education activities. The Residential Camp provides all of these activities but is designed to include the outdoor experience of sleeping in tents, learning to live amongst and with nature. The Leadership Training and Counsellor Training programs have been created to support the development of personal and professional skills for adolescents aged 13-16.
