Toyota Canada

In celebration of Toyota’s 60th anniversary in Canada, our Nationwide Road Trip has reached its final destination! Leg #6 of the drive officially concluded at Mile 0 in Victoria, BC, after a memorable 9,000km cross-country journey!

The group was behind the wheel of the Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Camry, bZ4X, Prius Prime, Grand Highlander, TMMC’s 11-millionth vehicle - a 2024 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland, and the fuel-cell electric Mirai.
Several heritage vehicles were showcased along the way, during visits to Gasoline Alley Museum in Calgary Heritage Park and at local dealerships. The group also got to hear about the approach to affordable travel with a minimized environmental footprint from Evo Car Share and Modo Carsharing Co-op. Additional activities included a visit to Toyota’s regional office in Richmond, BC and a stop at the HTEC Hydrogen Refueling station in Kelowna, BC.

Thank you, Canada! 60 years so far… plenty more to go.

Pour célébrer le 60e anniversaire de Toyota au Canada, notre excursion routière nationale a atteint sa destination finale ! L’étape 6 du voyage s’est officiellement terminée au point Mile 0 à Victoria, en C.-B., après un voyage mémorable de 9 000 km à travers le pays !

Le groupe a pu conduire le Land Cruiser, le Crown Signia, la Camry, le bZ4X, la Prius Prime, le Grand Highlander, le 11 millionième véhicule produit à TMMC - un RAV4 Hybride Woodland 2024, et la Mirai électrique à pile à combustible.

Plusieurs véhicules historiques ont été présentés en cours de route, lors de visites au musée Gasoline Alley du Heritage Park à Calgary et chez des concessionnaires locaux. Le groupe a également eu l’occasion d’entendre Evo Car Share et Modo Carsharing Co-op parler de leur approche qui consiste à voyager à un prix abordable tout en minimisant l’empreinte écologique. D’autres activités ont été organisées, notamment une visite du bureau régional de Toyota à Richmond (C.-B.), à laquelle se sont joints des clubs locaux, et un arrêt à la station de ravitaillement en hydrogène HTEC à Kelowna (C.-B.).

Toyota’s Celebrating 60 years in Canada with a Nationwide Road Trip! Leg #5 of the drive began in Winnipeg, MB and ended in Calgary, AB.

The group was behind the wheel of the Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Camry, Tacoma Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna, and TMMC’s 11-millionth vehicle, a 2024 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland.

Along the way, the group toured Headingley Grand Trunk Trail in Winnipeg, MB and also visited Wanuskewin Heritage Park, where they learned about the evolving cultures of the Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. A fun stop at Ens Toyota in Saskatoon included some heritage vehicles and modified mining Land Cruisers. Visits to Dark Matter Materials in Edmonton Research Park and the Edmonton International Airport showcased how organizations are researching, developing and deploying different technologies to reduce emissions. The journey ended with some picture-perfect stops at Alberta’s Rowley ghost town, Royal Tyrell Museum, and Drumheller badlands.

Toyota's Celebrating 60 years in Canada with a Nationwide Road Trip! Leg #4 of the drive began in North Bay, ON and ended in Winnipeg, MB.

The group was behind the wheel of the Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Tundra, Sequoia, Sienna, Grand Highlander, and TMMC’s 11-millionth vehicle, a 2024 RAV4 Hybrid Woodland.

Along the way, the group visited an underground mine in Sudbury, where they got to see modified 70 Series Land Cruisers (courtesy of Miller Technology) hard at work! Using the Tundra to tow their boat, they also enjoyed a fishing tour in Sault Ste. Marie and visited Wayne Toyota in Thunder Bay. Several unique monuments and landmarks were also enjoyed, including the Big Nickel (celebrating its 60th anniversary), Wawa Goose, Husky the Muskie, and the longitudinal Centre of Canada in Tache, MB!

Toyota célèbre ses 60 ans au Canada à l’aide d’une tournée pancanadienne ! La quatrième étape du voyage a débuté à North Bay (Ontario) et s'est terminée à Winnipeg (Manitoba).

Le groupe a pris le volant des Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Tundra, Sequoia, Sienna, Grand Highlander et du 11 millionième véhicule assemblé par TMMC, un RAV4 Hybrid Woodland 2024.

En cours de route, le groupe a visité une mine souterraine à Sudbury, où il a pu voir des Land Cruisers de la série 70 modifiés (gracieuseté de Miller Technology) à l'œuvre ! Puis, au volant de Tundra pour remorquer leur bateau, ils ont également profité d'une excursion de pêche à Sault Ste. Marie suivi d’une visite de la concession Wayne Toyota à Thunder Bay. Plusieurs monuments et points de repère uniques ont également été observés, notamment le Big Nickel (qui célèbre son 60e anniversaire), l'oie de Wawa, Husky the Muskie et le Centre longitudinal du Canada à Tache, au Manitoba !

Toyota's Celebrating 60 years in Canada with a Nationwide Road Trip! Leg #3 of the drive began in Brossard, QC and ended in North Bay, ON.

Behind the wheel of the Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Prius, GR Corolla, Venza, Sienna and Grand Highlander, the group first explored the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, ON. The museum has the very first Prius to arrive in Canada, a 1998 model, on display!

Along the way were also visits to Toyota’s Eastern Canada Parts Distribution Centre, Toyota Canada Inc. headquarters in Toronto - where a variety of heritage vehicles were displayed, and Toyota’s Toronto Vehicle Processing Centre. A stop at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada concluded the trip as they celebrated their 11-millionth vehicle assembled, which will complete the rest of the road trip through Canada!

Au volant des Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Prius, GR Corolla, Venza, Sienna et Grand Highlander, le groupe a d'abord exploré le Musée des sciences et de la technologie du Canada à Ottawa, en Ontario. Le musée est en possession de la toute première Prius arrivée au Canada, un modèle de 1998 !

Le groupe a également visité le Centre de distribution des pièces de Toyota pour l'Est du Canada, le siège social de Toyota Canada Inc. à Toronto - où sont exposés divers véhicules du patrimoine - et le Centre de traitement des véhicules de Toyota à Toronto. Le voyage s'est terminé par un arrêt à Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC), où l'on a célébré le 11 millionième véhicule assemblé par TMMC, véhicule qui s’est joint au groupe et qui complétera le reste du voyage à travers le Canada !

Behind the wheel of the Toyota Land Cruiser, Crown Signia, Corolla Hybrid, GR86, Grand Highlander, Sienna, and a special 1979 Toyota Cressida, the group ventured up to Signal Hill, Cape Spear and the World’s Largest Fiddle in Sydney, NS! A stop in Point Edward, NS, where the grounds of the first Canadian assembly plant of the Toyota Corolla was, concluded the trip.
