Dear Ramen Family,

One of our own & Mother of 4 is BATTLING STAGE 4 CANCER.

A go fund me has been started to help this family and please let us share with you all, the reason for our GoFundMe below.

Masumi is a 37 years old and is an amazing wife and mother to 3 kids aged 18 months, 3 and 6.

About 3 months ago, after experiencing trouble breathing and severe back pain, she received a shocking diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, also known as metastatic lung cancer, while she was having a vacation with her kids in her home country, Japan.

Testing revealed that one quarter of her right lung was no longer functioning and that the cancer has spread to the other lung, brain and also the bones in her back.

The cancer she was diagnosed with is called Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. This cancer is often found in non-smokers and does not usually cause noticeable symptoms until it's spread through the lungs or into other parts of the body, so it’s hard to diagnose in its early stages.

The medication that she is currently receiving is unfortunately very expensive and giving her family financial hardships. Although this medication is showing positive effects to her cancer as of now, in most cases, it has been proved that her body will start creating antibodies to this medication and thus causing it to be less and less effective over the course of around 18 months in average.

When this happens, she will need to proceed to receiving different kinds of other treatments, which will further hurt her family financially.

Her goal is to move back to Toronto, Canada, where she had lived since she was 18.

She has been able to remain strong in front of her children but inside is deeply frightened and devastated thinking about their future without her.

Job Requirements:

Be enthusiastic, energetic and demonstrate a genuine positive demeanor throughout the shift

Be professional and hospitable while promoting The RAMEN ISSHIN brand.

Educate our guests on RAMEN ISSHIN brand, menu and specials

Be knowledgeable about all menu items and ingredients; especially potential allergens and where ingredient substitutions can be applied

Give the guest suggestions & recommendations for food & drinks based on their wants and needs

Get to know regular guests’ preferences as well as identify opportunities to introduce guests to new offerings or options or opportunities to upsell.

Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure they are rung into the
POS immediately and all required additional needs are given to the guests (ie chop sticks, soup spoon, extra napkins etc)

Serve food and beverages in accordance with RAMEN ISSHINTM standards, but above all in a professional, courteous manner

Follow the RAMEN ISSHINTM steps of service(ie. Greeting guests upon entry, checking in frequently, performing two-bite check, etc.)

Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items, and be able to answer all guest inquiries

Clean designated areas, in accordance with RAMEN ISSHINTM procedures, including opening and closing routines and following hygiene requirements

Clean, refill, and stock condiments, side stations, and bar areas

Maintain impeccable table settings before, during, and after service periods

Set tables to company policy, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair; glasses and flatware clean and polished

Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery, linen and other established needs, be they food or equipment

Ensure tables are manicured and cleaned as required. Pre-bus tables as guests have finished their food or drink showing attentiveness but without creating the feeling they are being rushed.

Review billing prior to presenting the bill to the guest ensuring accuracy, present the bill and take payment from the guest in accordance with the procedures of the establishment

At all times to be aware of and practice good guest service by assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other guests

Attend to guest complaints satisfactorily with or without the assistance of management

Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures

Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies

Answer phones and assist guests with product, event, and order inquiries
Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress

Attend meetings and training courses as required

Any other duties as assigned

Duties & Responsibilities:

Support standards of cleanliness, timing, uniform, grooming, organization, production, food quality, and consistency

Maintain the work area, including all counter tops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition in accordance with health and safety regulations

Inventory all products that may need to be stocked, pulled, and/or prepped – keep management informed of food quantities and quality in prep, on the line, and in holding

Communicate effectively between alternate shifts (am and pm) and ensure station is stocked and ready for service for current and incoming shift

Ensure proper rotation, labelling, and dating of all products

Ensure all products are prepared, held, and served at correct temperatures

Accurately complete all orders with uncompromising quality and consistency as per restaurant and owners’ specifications

Complete all food production and prep sheets as well as monitoring daily prep production

May be assigned to work multiple stations throughout the shift

This is a working Supervisor Position which participates in the tip pool.

As one of our Supervisors, you are required to have :

Knowledge of RAMEN ISSHIN operations including all products, menu’s, schedules and promotions

Assist with order taking and food handling when service volumes require

Ensure the team members follow all company recipes for food and beverage preparation

Handling guest concerns with and without the support of the management team.

Proper adherence to all cash handling procedures as outlined in company policies

Correct use of POS system, adhering to all company standards and policies

Inspect and sign off on all hourly staff duties and time punches

Report and reconcile daily sales and payment methods

Communicate clearly with all suppliers

Handle daily management duties in the absence of the Manager or Owner
