Thank you, thank you to everyone who came out in the rain!! And a huge thank you Little Jo Berrys for organizing! These events are so important to small businesses

If you missed us last night, we'll be at the Parkdale Public Market night market every Wednesday night until October 9th and at 613flea next Saturday (September 14th)

HI PALS!!!!

We are on for tonight 5pm-9pm Parkdale Public Market✨💥☀️

There is a chance of rain near the end of the festival so if you are coming please bring your raincoats, umbrellas and the right shoes! Check the weather before coming to prep!

All vendors are expected to have tents so you can pop under as needed. And is open as a mask mandatory break space if anyone needs a break from the rain (which is definitely will not rain and everything will be okay) also our pals are also staying open with indoor seating.

We decided to move forward with this date because the weather is actually more dangerous/ higher chance for rain on our storm date.

As always we will have pay it forward passes at our booth for anyone who needs and will not run out during the event. This is a free entrance event and music in the park is free as well! 🩷😇

We're so excited to be part of the Parkdale Public Market 100th birthday celebration this Wednesday!!

Bringing all the fun treats + sandwiches, and we're doing a promo where you a free tote bag with the purchase of a meal deal

Market season is upon us, and I thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves and talk about some of our business commitments!!

Listed above are some commitments I made when starting the business back in 2022 to try and navigate this industry as ethically as possible.

1. Living wage! Fairly self explanatory but we believe in compensating fairly for labor. Current living wage rates in Ottawa are just under 22$/hour. At the time of this post we are paying 25$/hour.

2. We know you love local and so do we! When possible to source something made locally, we do! Even if this comes at a higher cost.

3. We love supporting companies that have the same values as us. When sourcing ingredients (like chocolate) that are produced in known un-ethical industries we buy fair-trade! Like Camini chocolate and Bridgehead coffee

4. Profiting is a weird (but necessary) part of owning a buisness! Since opening we've commited to donating a portion of our sales to different charities and non-profits. You can see where we've donated in the past in the highlight reel on our instagram. Donations from May and June sales will be going to The PCRF (The Palestinian Children's Relief Fund) to support their Urgent Gaza Relief Fund.

5 . Lastly, we are and will always be a fully vegan buissness. Both in the food we purchase/make and any other things we create or use (like our tote bags or the hand soap we use).

Montreal vegan round up! I'm switching gears to vegan restaurants in Montreal!! All these places are fully vegan and are great places to support on your next trip.

1. Suchi Momo: fully vegan, upscale suchi. This is a restaurant that made me like suchi!! There are so many fun and different options

2. Café Dei Campi: vegan Italian bakery. Incredible baked goods and food. Pictured hear is their little pizzas that I'm obsessed with

3. Sophie Sucré: All your classic vegan vegan baked goods like crossants and cake. It is super central and easy to get to

4. LOV: vegan sit down restaurant, fun varied menu with good cocktails

5. Chez Zac: vegan pizzeria!! I'm a big fan of ordering a pizza from them and eating it in a park. Lots of creative flavors, too, and they draw cute things on your pizza box

6. Maynard: fun vegan restaurant open 7 days a week! Great food, AND they offer breakfast 7 days a week

7. Chu Chai: upscale vegan Thai food! Really nice restaurant to sit down in, and they also offer takeout! Everything is incredible

8. Café Tuyo: one of my favorite cafés. Lots of fun little treats and food options. They host lots of cool events, too. Definitely follow their Instagram to see what they're doing.

9. La Beignerie: the most insane vegan donuts. They have the flavors you could want (including Boston cream). My favorite was the cream brûlée

1. Taj: amazing vegan Indian food, including vegan Naan!!

2. Moth and Moon Creations: bead work and other hand-made items!! Brittney is a childhood best friend and incredibly talented. Order through her website or DMs. You can also find her at local markets!

3. Chickpeas Ottawa: fully vegan falafel restaurant in the train yards. My personal favorite is their lentil soup

4. Naturally Vain: local bath and beauty products. You can find their bath bombs at Costco!!

5. Shinka Suchi: the best suchi in the city, hands down! I hate seaweed, so this restaurant is actually the best.

6. Yugi Rolls: fully vegan Chinese food!! My personal favorite is the pepper salt tofu.

7. The Pepper Mustache, local hot sauces. My family recently finished an entire jar of their spicy red peper jelly in a week.

8. TL Chocolate: specialty chocolate and treat. I'm a big fan of the vegan affogato and hot chocolate.

9. Arlington Five: cute little coffee shop on Arlington. Most recently, I had an amazing vegan pumpkin cherry muffin

10. Wolf Down: vegan donair!

So many great businesses for you to support! Reminder that January can be hard on small businesses. Choose how you spend your money wisely!

Local buissness round up (part 2)!!! More of my favorite local spots for you to support this winter. All vegan or with great vegan options. Comment your favorite local businesses below!

1. The Momo Spot: incredible vegan momos, I had some for lunch today!!

2. Blue Barn: local spot in Wakefield, QC. Lots of vegan options and great coffee

3. Moo Shu: easily my favorite vegan ice cream in the city

4. Wei's Noodle House: My favorite takeout in the city. Do yourself a favor and get anything with their peanut sauce

5. Naturally Vero: fully vegan café in Chealsy QC, they offer meal delivery in Ottawa!!

6. Honey Confections: amazing vegan donuts with multiple locations. My favorite is the raspberry lemonade

7. Loon Kombucha: Seriously, some of the best kombucha I've ever had. You can find them locally in a lot of cafés and health food stores. They're also at markets regularly

8. Snack O Shake: My market neibours!!! I'm their biggest fan and love literally everything they make. Extensive vegan options!!

9. Alkadoor Sweet: Vegan baklava!! Extensive vegan option as well. They're at multiple malls and markets in the area. Staff are super knowledgeable, just tell them you're vegan!

10. Silver Spoon Thai: a childhood favorite, we used to come here all the time as kids. So many vegan options, all marked online. They also recently re-opened for dine in

Local buissness round up (part 1)!! We're closed for a while, but thankfully, all my favorite spots are open. January is tough for small businesses. Please go support if you can!!

1. Little Jo Berries: Look at this cute cookie. I know you guys already love LJB. Did you see they're offering cookie decorating classes for Valentine's Day?

2.Camino: fair trade baking and pantry products, we get all of our chocolate products from them!

3. Dreamland: Vegan pastas and garlic bread, yum. Ask for a vegan menu when you walk in. (Pro tip: make a reso). And our incredible pop-ups hosts

4.Hot Potato Company: fully vegan loaded potatoes. They also make my favorite crepes in the summer. They're at all year round

5. Hungry Babe: My favorite salads, and they are now producing Rad Faux Cheese. I'm currently saving a baked bree in my freezer for NYD, and I'm very excited

6. City Seltzer: Two people last week told me that they think of me when they see City Seltzer. Safe to say, I'm a big fan. My favorite is the City Citrus

7.Honey Coffee Bar: Out in Stittsville, Honey has so many incredible vegan options. Even better, they're marked vegan on the menu. Fun fact: I worked at Honey for 3 years! Also perfect for biking to, they're basically right off the trans canada trail

8. Keeping It Vegan: literally everything here is incredible. I'm so lucky they moved so close to me. Recently tried they're frozen lasagna and it was the perfect quick dinner

9/10. Pastel and Coco/Astoria: a fully vegan bakery and restaurant in hull. Astoria is my families go-to restaurant for occasions, and I love biking down to pastel and Coco when the weather is nice
