The RE/MAX Quest for Excellence scholarship program is now accepting essay submissions until March 9, 2025. RE/MAX Canada is pleased to offer 40 scholarships of $1,000 each to students across Canada (except for Quebec).

This scholarship program offers a valuable opportunity for you to connect with your clients and potential clients who have Grade 12 students, as well as strengthen your relationships with your local high schools.

How to Enter the Scholarship Program:
To apply, eligible students (must be a Grade 12 student attending high school in Canada in the September 2024 – June 2025 academic year and must not have participated in a commencement ceremony) are invited to write and submit an online essay up to 500 words in length, answering one of the following questions:
What does a “bright future” look like for you?
How have you demonstrated leadership or charity within your community to make it a better place?
How can we ensure fair and affordable housing for all Canadians?

The BoC dropped their overnight rate for the third time in 2024! Now at 4.25%. Not tied to fixed-rate mortgages but VARIABLE mortgage holders will see some instant savings! Either in terms of lower payments or increased equity per payment. Nice for many lines of credit as well!

Numbers are holding pretty steady in Ottawa real estate! Numbers are down from our peak this year (Spring) but sales are up and so are "Days on Market". This means buyers can take more time finding the right home but sellers have a better chance of landing a sale... If you're considering a move please reach out and we can discuss...

Numbers are pretty much holding steady pricewise from last month but are still down from last year... Sales are up a bit in terms of freehold homes but condos are down significantly from 2023. Lots of opportunities out there with more interest rate drops expected!

For the first time since July 2023 the BOC has lowered its policy rate! The quarter point drop brings the benchmark rate to 4.75%. Not a game changer but some relief for those holding lines of credit, variable rate mortgages and home buyers...
