Raoul Mugosa is here!! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this dear Brother-in-Christ, Raoul is the co-founder of Kwagala Ministries International who, along with alumnus Robbie Palmer, began this wonderful ministry in 2011 to support boys and young men in Uganda. RCHS has supported Kwagala financially since 2014 through our annual Ugandan Mile campaign, where our students raise awareness and money for this ministry. On average, our students raise more than $20,000 every year!

Raoul is here for the next two months, and his calendar is filling up with visits to Youth Groups and other church events. If your church is interested in hosting Raoul to learn more about his work in Uganda, please reach out to Dan Kaiser, [email protected] to schedule him in.

There’s no place or time that we cannot meet with God. But to help create a special space for our students to encounter God, we are going to do something a little different next week.

During the week of October 15 - 18, students will attend chapel daily, have small group discussions and prayer, and choose from a variety of encouraging and uplifting forty-five minute sessions held throughout the building.

This initiative incorporates many of the elements of a spiritual retreat and to accommodate this, classes will be shortened to fifty-five minutes.

Please pray for staff and students next week, that God would move in our midst!

Our annual ROYALS DAY didn't disappoint—there was much energy and fun, and some pretty silly get-ups—while our athletics teams are working hard on the court and on the field, our students and staff are working hard on their school spirit!!

Our Sr. Boys' Volleyball team hosted the undefeated Paul Desmarais on Wednesday. Finding themselves down the first two sets, they put forth a valiant effort to come back and nearly forced the game to 5 full sets. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost 3 sets to 1. The team is now 2 wins and 1 loss on the season—they have lots of future promise!

Our Sr. Boys Soccer won 5-0 against E.S. Maurice Lapointe on Wednesday. Two goals from Jacob A. and some help from Alex D. Adam G., along with a sweet header from Aiden P. kept the Ref's pen busy. Stellar play from the back line and great team ball possession kept Gerritt (the Keeper) pretty bored in the net. The boys are fun to watch this year! Come check out our next/last two home games on Oct 16 and 22, at 4:00pm.

Congratulations to our INAUGURAL RCHS Tennis Team on an amazing showing at Friday's Central Regional Tournament!🎾🎉

We have four of six athletes (three of four events) who have qualified to advance to the East Regional Final on Monday October 7th, joining Patrick D. and Harrison W. who got byes to the next tournament already (so five events will have entries).

Alexander D. won three rounds in High School A boys singles to make the finals of the main draw. These were his first tournament matches in over five years. He narrowly lost in a 3rd set tie-breaker in the Finals but fought quite valiantly to be the tournament main draw Finalist.

Siena G. in High School A girls singles, played very well in her first tournament ever! After exiting the main draw in a tough first match, she moved over to the Consolation draw to win two rounds and become the Consolation draw winner.

Ethan M. and Alex D. in B Division boys doubles also learned the ropes in the their first tournament. By winning one match by walkover, losing a very close three-set match and then winning their consolation round match, they have also qualified for the East Finals!

The coaches (Heather Doak and Terence Mudde) were impressed how all players steadily improved during each of their matches and played smarter and more accurately in each subsequent match. They were all very well behaved and represented RCHS well among the seven other schools present at this tournament, adhering to the NCSSAA Code of Conduct.

Redeemer's 2024/25 Theme Verse.

RCHS' 2024/25 school year has begun! Our halls are humming again, and this morning our gymnasium was ringing with worship to our Maker!

We've reached a new record for enrollment: 223 beautiful souls!🎉

We have also been blessed with several new staff members: Mr. Comstock, Mr. Doucet, Mrs. Gill, Mrs. Ludwig, Mrs. McMahon, Mrs. Scarpim Rose, Mrs. Siltamaki, and Mr. Triemstra (yes, he's Mrs. Triemstra's hubby!) — we're so thankful for the Lord's provision with staffing this year!

Please keep our students, staff, Board, and all our amazing volunteers in prayer throughout the school year—we're all in need of His wisdom and strength to carry us through.

Redeemer Christian High School is now accepting applications for the following full-time and part-time positions starting September 2024: Teachers, Occasional Teachers, Educational Assistant, Guidance Counsellor, and Facilities Manager. Please see below for details.

Certified teachers, who are committed to Christ, and passionate about teaching from a Biblical worldview for the following areas of study: French, English, Social Studies, and Sciences, starting September 2024.

High school academic guidance counsellor, full or part-time position, starting September 2024. The applicant must be a certified teacher and trained guidance counsellor, with the above-mentioned qualifications.

Educational Assistant, full-time, to work in our Learning Support Room, starting September 2024.

Facilities Manager, Half-time
Starting in August 2024. The main responsibilities of the facilities manager include: Responding promptly to facility issues, conducting and/or coordinating repairs and troubleshooting as needed. Supervise and coordinate maintenance of building systems, such as HVAC, IT infrastructure, roofing, PA system, plumbing, electrical, security, and locks.

Student Summer Employment Opportunity: July & August 2024—8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (lunch 12:00-12:30 PM); 8 week position—7 hours/day $16.55/hr (minimum wage).

RCHS invites applications from students in Grade 12 or older to work at the school during the summer break. You must be outgoing, energetic, confident, and able to interact with the public in a pleasant manner; you must also be disciplined and able to work independently.

Duties will include answering phone calls, receiving deliveries, sorting/organizing textbooks, general cleaning in classrooms and throughout the school (such as vacuuming, washing windows, and weeding flower beds), and other duties that may arise.

Friday, May 24th is our Annual Grandfriends Day! Students are encouraged to invite the special seniors in their lives to enjoy some fellowship with other seniors and Redeemer staff, to visit a class, and to enjoy a special lunch with their grandkid(s) or special friend(s). Congratulations to the Jr. Boys' Volleyball team who won a silver medal in the Notre Dame High School tournament on Friday, February 23!
The team was undefeated all day in the round robin and playoffs, until just coming up short (by a score of 25-23) in the final set played against Merivale. Mr. Elson has joined Mr. Hamilton to help coach the boys this season. There is a lot of potential and we are looking forward to seeing what will come in the future! Go Royals!!! 🙌🎉🎉

Wow, what a wonderful gift Redeemer received through the efforts of many. We are so grateful to all who donated, served, and attended! So many of you helped to make this event go beyond all we could hope for or imagine.

We praise God for His continued blessings through this event. May He continue to bless Redeemer, the staff, the students, and the greater community in His work.

On February 15th, the Jr. Girls Volleyball team competed in a tournament at Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School. The competition was fierce and some excellent teams were there. Our girls played very well and finished first in the A Pool of the tournament earning them a spot in the Semi Finals! They represented our school and Christ with joy! GO ROYALS!!!🎉🎉
