For those wondering if we've received our new fall/winter inventory...

Glebe Trotters is one of Ottawa's top shoe stores, and we are looking for more shoe-loving people to join our sales staff!

Located in the Glebe (a stone's throw from Lansdowne Park), we have been operating at 860 Bank Street for nearly thirty years now. We sell many quality brands like ECCO, Clarks, Red Wing, Olukai, and Secrid, and we are proud to be among the biggest retailers of Blundstone boots and On runners in all of Canada.

Ideally we are looking for someone with previous shoe-selling experience, as we are quickly heading into our busiest time of year and the time to train new staff will be at a premium. You will need to be able to be quick on your feet and likely handle multiple customers at the same time (if you are not comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment, this may not be the job for you). With the amount of footwear that we sell, providing alternative suggestions to customers should we not have exactly what they initially request is also a must (go the extra mile for the customer; whether they end up purchasing or not, we want them to come back). A cheerful attitude and good sense of humour is an asset as well, as we do like to joke around when time permits (basically just quoting "The Office").

Pay is hourly and above minimum wage, and you don't ever need to worry about working on Sundays. Currently we do not work any nights past 5 p.m. (though that may change in the future). Stick around long enough and certain other benefits will become available to you as well.
