We were the first in the city to provide: Flexible care, non-traditional hours, 24/7 a week care, respite and parent night outs.
First in the city to provide: Flexible care, non-traditional hours, 24/7 a week care, respite and parent night outs and of course the first licensed program in Canada to provide group care for children recovering from mild illness surgery and injuries. We were one of the very first programs to provide a Ministry of Education component to our structured day. Our βmissionβ addresses our commitment to review our clients childcare requirements on a regular and on-going basis.
Howdy π€ TCP family and friends. Our toddlers πΆπΌ from our Kanata location really enjoy gross motor activities. Recently they had the opportunity to do some crawling through tunnels. In their classroom they had a fabric tunnel and the children πΆπΌ were so eager to crawl through it. They waited so nicely, took turns and talked with their friends while they waited.

Letβs work together to complete a task. π That is exactly what our school age children π§π½ π§πΌ did to put together a few our puzzles 𧩠recently. They worked together sharing, turn taking and expressing their ideas π‘ all while putting together some new puzzles. 𧩠Once the puzzles were put together they applied glue onto them so they hang them up on the wall. Instant art.

Boy are we spoiled here at TCP. We had a staff appreciation day β€οΈ today at both of our locations. We had Eastside Marioβs pasta (4 different kinds), salad, bread, π₯ crepes with fruit, strawberry π shortcake π° and a trifle cake. And as Tammie would say we had fun pop and fun chips. We have to say it was delicious. π€€ We are so lucky to work somewhere that we feel so valued and enjoy going into work everyday. We are very appreciative. π
Hi friends. π Our friends in our preschool program from our Kanata location had the opportunity to do
a fun activity. The educators π©π»βπ« froze small animals in ice π§ for the children to try and release from the ice using paintbrushes ποΈ and water. π¦ The children π§πΌπ§π½ looked so surprised when they saw the ice π§ melt due to the water. π§ This experience encouraged fine motor skills, sharing, turn taking and early science 𧫠skills.

There are no rules when it comes to art. πΌοΈ Art is creative expression. The preschool children π§π½π§πΌ from our Kanata location got creative last week. They created beautiful apples. π They used sponges, 𧽠paintbrushes, ποΈ and even glue. This experience encouraged colour recognition, fine motor skills, self expression, and social interaction with others. πPre,310
Ugh, broccoli!! π₯¦ Does your child π§πΌπ§π½ like broccoli? π₯¦ Well we found an art πΌοΈ activity that uses pieces of broccoli π₯¦ as a paintbrush. ποΈ So if you have some leftover broccoli π₯¦ and donβt want to waste it, why not use it for art for your child. π€ͺ For this unique art experience you will need a piece of construction paper, π paint π¨ in fall colours, and pieces of broccoli. π₯¦ You can either draw βπ» a tree without leaves π or get your child to draw βπ» it. Next have your child dip the bushy part of the broccoli π₯¦ into the paint and dab it onto the tree. This will represent the leaves. ππ When it dries the tree π³ will look π spectacular. You will be impressed.

Happy Monday TCP family and friends. πWe everyone had a fantastic weekend. Did you and your family head outside and enjoy nature? ππWhat did you do? π Well last week the infants πΆπΌ from our Kanata location had the opportunity to play with βnatureβ inside. One of the educators π©π»βπ« brought some leaves and small gourds for the children to explore. What the children touch and pick up the gourds was very cute π₯° to watch. π Pumpkins are not something they see all the time so this was a new experience for them.

What do you do when you have a abundance of leaves π in your yard? Well our toddlers πΆπΌ from our Carling location made sticky frames. πΌοΈ The educators π©π»βπ« made frames out of construction paper and wrapped them in tape. Then the children π§π½ π§πΌ carried their frame around the yard gathering falls items, such as sticks, leaves π and dried grass. This is a gross motor activity as well as sensory and nature exploration. π

Here is another fun activity to do with your children π§π½ π§πΌ at home π using leaves.π Go on a little nature walk and get your children to gather leaves. Next give them a piece of construction paper and have them draw βπ» some faces on it with all different emotions. πππ€ͺπ‘π₯ Now comes the really fun part. Let your child π§π½ glue leaves π on each of the faces creating hair for the head. Your child π§πΌ can use their imagination π to create many different hairstyles.

So much fun was had by our preschool children π§πΌπ§π½ at our Kanata location. The educators π©π»βπ« were give a large cardboard bus π to put together then the children were able to colour and decorate it. They worked together to choose who would colour ποΈwhere and what colours π΄π£π΅ they would use. This activity kept them so engaged. The nice thing about it was we could actually use it to play in after it was coloured. ποΈ

A little something for us to remember. π
The children π§π½π§πΌ at our Carling location in our preschool program enjoy creating their own play using letter / number stepping stones. πͺ¨This experience encourages letter and number recognition and gross motor play. ππBuilding a small pyramid and jumping adds a little risky play, which they enjoy. π The children set up the stepping stones, πͺ¨ walk ππ on the top of them and say the letter or number as they go across them. This activity also encourages them to work on building their balance.

Hi friends. Happy wet Wednesday. βοΈ Now that fall is fast approaching, and we will be seeing more leaves π on the ground, we would like to share with you a fun and creative way to use some of those leaves. π Get your child π§π½ to help you gather some leaves π from your yard or even go on a walk ππ to gather them. Next have your child π§πΌ glue the leaves π on a piece of construction paper. When the glue is dry have your child draw βπ» legs π¦΅π½ and antennas on their leaf π bugs. π·οΈWe think this is a great way to get the children π§πΌ π§π½ to use their fine motor skills and their creativity.

Shake, shake, the apple π tree. π³ Our toddler πΆπΌfriends from our Kanata location made cute little apple π trees π³ for art recently. They glued the apples on the top of the tree, this giving the children the opportunity to count the apples π as they put them on their tree. This activity encourages fine motor skills, hand βπΌ eye ποΈ coordination, language development and social skills.

Stop π wait. Donβt throw away all your unwanted paper. π Our infants πΆπΌ from our Kanata location had the opportunity to explore some shredded paper in the sensory bin. They also had small containers, π« and small plastic toys that they used with the paper. We are lucky as we have a paper shredder but to do this at home you just have to rip it up into little pieces. Even your children π§πΌπ§π½ can help with that. This experience enhances fine motor skills, hand βπΌ eye ποΈ coordination, turn taking and self regulation.
