The entire Macon team took on the challenge of creating a custom SD500 that is equipped to go the distance for one of our repeat clients 🤝

From design, to fabrication all the way to assembly, until the final step of shipping, the team pulled it off within a short window and delivered on every promise💥

A little throwback from our time in Guatemala, where the team brought over a SD300 and a T-150. Two plants that are light weight and easily portable. Although different in various ways, both maintain Macon’s high level of durability and quality 💪

As Jonas and Jeff are currently in Ghana, we are taking a look back at our trip to Peru! ✈️

Here the team was able to bring over our T-150 to test gold bearing material at an elevation of 15,000ft. above sea level💥

On this trip, the T-150 was also used to clean concentrate in an effort to remove mercury which was used in the refining process 👍🏻

Our trommel’s have a heavy drum design to endure the demands of coarser grade materials. 💪🏻 💥

At Macon, we are a fast-growing team of problem-solvers united by a relentless drive to grow, succeed, and solve our clients’ toughest challenges.

Our diversified team of engineers, designers, fabricators and technicians under one roof enables in-house 3D design, construction and testing.

The gold room development is a great example of identifying a real problem in the industry and providing an engineered solution.
Operators to date spend hours of back-breaking manual labor handling heavy concentrates through multiple separating steps.
This new system for placer and hard rock operations is a game-changer in mechanized and automated concentrate cleanups from sluice runs or centrifugal concentrators, taking it right to a sellable product – and being more efficient at it.

Based on one year of process and mechanical design review work, a prototype is now under construction for rigorous factory testing. The product launch is expected by the end of 2022.

Key features of the system include:

1. Steady plant feed
The plant feed is metered by variable speed auger feeder from a 2 ton capacity bin to the trommel screen allowing for optimal screening conditions.

2. Appropriate screen classification
Concentrate is screened wet at 1mm or 2mm using a trommel screen. Fines passing the screen are directed to a decanting tank for excess water removal prior to tabling. Screen oversize is processed over a mechanical duplex jig for coarse gold recovery.

3. Provision of a steady feed to the table
Shaking tables are sensitive to fluctuations in feed rate. Steady feed control at an optimum solids/water ratio of approx 30%-solids is achieved with a slurry duty peristaltic pump and provides consistent conditions, allowing for operator friendly table operation and maximum gold recovery.

4. Re-circulation of table middlings
The intermediate (middlings) stream is automatically re-circulated to the decanting tank for re-processing over the table for maximum gold recovery and operational convenience.
