Simplicity is often perceived as unattractive and unremarkable, but it represents elegance and complexity. As Leonardo da Vinci said, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Embracing simplicity can lead to clear goals, focused actions, reduced clutter, and decreased stress, ultimately providing peace, tranquility, and more time for other important aspects of life. With injury rehabilitation, simplicity is linked to making tasks easy to understand, avoiding excessive detail, and sticking to the point. Embracing simplicity can lead to more effective focus on fewer tasks, rather than attempting to manage too much at once, ultimately improving efficiency.

We need at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, spread out over at least 3 days per week. Additionally, adults should do muscle-strengthening activities that work all major muscle groups on at least 2 days per week. It is important to note that these guidelines are general recommendations and may need to be adjusted based on individual health conditions and fitness goals.

Instead of trying to maintain a perfect posture, we should be trying to avoid prolonged postures. The quote I like most is “the best posture is your next posture”. There's a widely held belief that sitting and maintaining a neutral posture is effective in preventing or treating pain.

These movement patterns are important because they form the basis for long-term success in lifting and in life, occurring in countless free weight and machine exercises, as well as in real-world scenarios such as work, sports, or interacting with family. Categorizing exercises by movement pattern rather than by muscle group is a savvy way to train, and by pulling an exercise from each functional “bucket,” you can create a training program with virtually unlimited variety. Neglecting one or more of these patterns can result in muscle imbalances, so it is recommended to hit all six foundational patterns in your exercise program.
