We did it - Hydrangeas are now part of our Summer Sale!
It's a perfect weekend for planting and all in-stock Perennials plus Hydrangeas are now 25% off.

Why not grab a few new plants for your garden and a bag of Sea Compost (to help with root development)? Once they are planted in your garden, sit back, watch your hose trickle water at the base of these newly planted beauties (5-10 mins daily, thorough watering will be key, for about a month), with a drink in hand, enjoying this gorgeous Summer day.

The cool night temps are what spurs a colour change on most panicle hydrangeas (cone shaped blooms). With the recent cool nights, our hydrangea patch has been kissed with colour!

With rain on the way, it’s the perfect time to plant these beauties and give them the hydration they need to thrive. 🌧️ Hydrangeas require plenty of water, especially during their first month, to establish strong roots. The upcoming rain will be a great help, but be sure to monitor soil moisture and supplement with additional watering as needed. Grab yours today and enjoy vibrant blooms for seasons to come!

So, yesterday was the day to receive fresh, amazing annuals and TODAY is the Perennial Re-Stock!

At sunrise Kyle and Robin were unloading a truck of gorgeous perennials from our growing partner in Niagara. They are all zone appropriate, carefully chosen for YOUR garden and fresh.

Raymonde, Jared and Vikki have them on the benches now and you folks are loving the selection. Cartloads are heading to the parking lot - will some go home with you?

FRESH! Today we filled up with fresh annuals! Our benches look amazing - we have annual pots for filling in dull spaces in your garden, hostess gifts, event decor or just because they make you smile.

Surprised? You were expecting a tired garden centre in all this Summer heat? Ha! You all know us better than that! One visit and you'll agree that we're fresh, fun and just a little bit fabulous (if we may say so ourselves)!

Happy Monday! It's a beautiful day...a beautiful day to rest and rejuvenate after a busy weekend.

In the Summer we are closed on Mondays for a day to spend with family. Today, we will tinker in our own gardens, do a few house jobs and read a little in a comfy lawn chair.

See you tomorrow- it'll be a big day with the arrival of fresh perennials (probably arriving late afternoon) and fresh 10" pots of annuals.

Perennial Re-Stock!

The weather this weekend looks perfection - perfect for dabbling in the garden, adding a bit of perennial colour here and there. We just received a gorgeous re-stock of locally grown perennials, all zone appropriate and carefully chosen for health and vigour.

You CAN plant in the Summer, just a little extra care must be given: use a quality soil additive (for nutrient) like Sea Compost or Triple Mix, choose the right plant for the right place (know if your space is sun/shade, near trees, windy, on a slope...) and commit to watering deeply and thoroughly very often during the first month (or more) upon planting.

Road Trip!

With a few days off here and there, we've been having fun touring around to other family-owned shops and garden-y places and seeing so many lovely sights.

Are you doing the same? Do you know we have a beautiful display garden here on site for you to wander and visualize how certain plants could work in your own gardens and spaces? Bring friends! Bring an iced coffee and sit on our benches and take a break amid the beauty.

While day tripping to us, tour the rest of the Peterborough & Area Garden Route - Ontario, Canada that we are part of. There are fun stops at garden gift shops, garden niche growers and also a beauty of a display garden at Anna's Perennials Nursery and Gardens.

What's up today? A little travel to visit with friends, a little gardening, a little pesto making and home baking plus dinner with the parents.
