How has it been over 2 1/2 months since we played the Tebey Golf Classic? Where has the summer gone?

Fund Spotlight: Senior Care

Senior Care was part of the original mandate of the Foundation when it was established in 1999 after St. Joseph’s Hospital in East City closed (we were originally called St. Joseph’s Care Foundation). Over the years we’ve been able to provide funding for equipment to assist with mobility issues, blood pressure monitors, oximeters and hearing amplified headsets, support INR Stroke Prevention clinics, Mental Health programming and continuing education for local physicians, all within the Peterborough area community.

Our Foundation has been a member of and benefitted from Delta Bingos Charitable Gaming for over a year now. If you are part of an NFP organization that could benefit from some extra fundraising dollars (who couldn't), all the contact information is in the graphic.

June marks the one year anniversary of GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation joining Delta Bingo Charitable gaming.  Through this partnership over $20,000 has flowed into our Foundation.  That money has immediately gone back into our community to support nutrition programs, emergency shelter, youth mental health programs, amongst other much needed services.

HOPE (Helping Others Participate Equally) and GPHSF, Your Family Health Team Foundation, are proud to announce our 2024 Steve Montador Bursary Recipient; Jack Crawford.

The H.O.P.E. Bursary in honour of Steve Montador was established to support students transitioning from high school to college/university that are suffering the long-term effects of a sports-related concussion and require a reduced academic course load as result of injury.

Although Jack is suffering long term ramifications of concussion, he has remained a positive influence in his community. He is described by his coach Scott Hartwick as someone who “was always willing to help when asked and who tried his best with everything he did. He is an extremely dependable and trustworthy individual and was made assistant captain of the team (Peterborough Petes AA) on numerous occasions.”

Jack graduates from St. Peters Catholic Secondary School this year and has been accepted to attend the University of Guelph in the Fall.

H.O.P.E. and GPHSF are proud to be able to offer Jack Crawford the 2024 Steve Montador Bursary. We wish Jack all the best in his recovery and future academic pursuits.
