Our BRAND NEW Puppy Kindergarten program is now open for registration! Starting August 20th, we will be running a 4 week program designed as a hybrid between our board & train programs and our classic puppy foundations group class.

This program includes:
☑️ a full day session once a week at our facility
☑️ virtual orientation session in advance of the program start
☑️ engagement, place training, recall, intro to loose leash walking, and more
☑️ learn how to address common puppy challenges like jumping, nipping, and chewing

Take-home practice will be assigned weekly, with a “final exam” for you and your puppy at the end of the program where you and our Trainer will review and demonstrate all topics learned!

This program is ideal for owners who are comfortable with their handling skills.

What does it mean to have a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) on staff at your preferred boarding facility?

Making the choice to board your dog at a facility can be a big one for some canine families. Ensuring your kennel of choice has staff thoroughly trained in canine behaviour, safety, and sanitization should be at the top of your list. 🩺

So what does it mean if you choose a kennel with an RVT on staff? RVT’s are highly trained to assess and provide recommendations for many common pet ailments including minor injury (limping, lacerations), vomiting/diarrhea, ear infections and skin concerns. RVT’s are also specially trained to watch for signs and symptoms of emergency situations like canine bloat, and know how to manage potentially serious injuries if they do arise.

Black Hill Dog Company has an RVT on site, with over 10 years of experience in general practice and emergency medicine, and our staff are trained in emergency care, including minor lacerations, acute orthopaedic injury and air way obstruction.

Our boarding dogs receive weekly health checks, and wellness of the dogs is closely monitored. Detailed assessments are done regularly, and we have communication protocols to contact owners if something is noticed. 🐾
