PEC has two dogs looking to find their forever homes. Please share and let's get these two adopted!
This week we are giving a 'bump' to Ashley who is looking for her forever home. With other cats, she likes to play a little aggressively so she either needs to be an only pet, or with another pet who can keep up with her rough and tumble style. She is very people friendly.
For the week of June 3, 2024
This week we are featuring a beautiful long haired black cat named Ashley. She is approximately a year old and has already been a mom but she has since been spayed. Ashley is a friendly, affectionate and talkative young girl who loves to curl up in a good lap. So far she seems to be a bit selective with other cats so a slow and proper introduction would be key with other pets.
For the week of August 5, 2024
Happy long weekend everyone! This week we are featuring Miss Kitty, a beautiful muted tabby-torty. She is approximately 6 years old and is a short hair cat. Miss Kitty is spayed. She is a plump little lady who enjoys being a lap cat but isn't a big fan of being picked up.
We're happy to share an update of Ecto and Egon who were adopted last Christmas. Ecto and Egon are settling in well. They love to wrestle and play. Egon is still very shy about being pet but loves to rub up against legs and feet. Ecto is coming out of his shell more everyday. He loves to play fetch with vegetables of all things. Snap peas and green beans being his favorite thus far. He likes to hangout in the kitchen to try to get into the fridge to take a bean or mini cucumber or piece of celery to play with. He loves cuddles and eating plants on the deck. Egon also loves to watch the bunnies and birds and occasionally steal his brothers' veggies.
We appreciate seeing our cats happily in their forever homes π
Goldie is still looking for her forever home

For the week of July 22, 2024
This week we are featuring two cute cats with very unique names. "Go Home" (left) is a black and white short hair that is approximately a year old. "Hot Wheels" (right) is a short hair tabby that is approximately 4-5 months old. Both are male, neutered cats. Go Home and Hot Wheels are not bonded but they do get along with each other so they could be adopted together or separately. They are both very sweet and cuddly cats. See the comments for a cute video of the pair.
MISSING CAT: Posted on behalf of the owner.
This is Luna, she's an spayed indoor cat that got out in the middle of the night. She's skiddish and doesn't come when called. Microchip is unknown.
She's been missing since the night of July 17th, she was last seen at 1786 County Road 12 Picton On, in the West Lake area on the lake side of the road. We have been searching for her since the early morning of the 18th.
Please help us find her.
Good morning from Brody and Brennan who are still looking to find their forever home together π
UPDATE: Phoebe has found her home!
Introducing Phoebe who is a beautiful long-haired Calico. Phoebe is nine years old and arrived at the shelter after her person had to give her up for their own health reasons. Phoebe was obviously an adored pet and we would love for her to find her forever home. Phoebe is an indoor cat but she loves to observe the world outside.
Phoebe is an intelligent and confident cat who has a big personality. Phoebe would be a great cat for a person or family who would like a cat who interacts with you and wants to be an active part of the family. Phoebe is used to other cats and possibly a dog but she would need a slow introduction to other pets.
Phoebe has been spayed and is front paw declawed. Her vaccinations are up to date. Phoebe is seventeen pounds so it would be better if she lost a few pounds with guidance from her vet to ensure her nutritional needs are met. She loves to play and follow you around which will help her reach her goal weight. Since she is plump, she was given a lion cut to help her keep clean after she's been in the litter box. Any potential adopter needs to understand the grooming needs of a long haired cat.
Phoebe is currently being fostered off site so please call to arrange for an introduction.
A cute video of Phoebe playing is in the comments!

This week we are featuring Miss Kitty, a perfectly plump 6 year old female torty-tabby. She is approximately 6 years old and is spayed. Miss Kitty is described as a cuddly lap cat, and though she doesn't enjoy being picked up, she is very friendly generally.
We want to extend an extra special thank you to one of our volunteers. Deanne started painting portraits of some our resident cats which you can see in the photos. Last Saturday Deanne and Christina had a booth at the Wellington market and sold out the paintings and made a whopping $1200 for LHS. Thank you so much for taking your talents and using them to help fundraise for the LHS!
Caturday social
Our volunteers almost never get to know each other because they come on different days and times, so volunteers Christina and Deanne organized a "Caturday Social"!
A good time was had by all and we were lucky to have beautiful weather and delicious treats.
A special thank you to Oriella who dropped off trays of her home baking for the occasion.
We hope to do this again with our volunteers who we appreciate so much.
We have three foster kittens ready to find their forever homes. One female and two males available. They are still being fostered off site so please call 613-847-3243 to coordinate a meet and greet.
We're giving a boost to Brody and Brennan who were featured a few weeks ago. These handsome boys were given a 5 star rating by our shelter manager so you know they would make excellent pets π let's find this duo a home!
PEC Canine Control has a lovely pup available for adoption
** Happy to say he has been adopted!
For the week of July 1, 2024
This week we are featuring a mother-daughter duo named Sue-Ling (bottom left) and Charlotte (top right). Both are short hair calico-tabbies. Sue-Ling is 12 years old and Charlotte is 9 years old and they are both spayed. They are a bonded pair who would make excellent pets - they are good with people, other cats, and even dogs! They are friendly lap cats.
FOUND: shorthair tortoiseshell cat. Female and spayed. Found hanging around in Consecon. She is very people friendly. Please call to claim.
For the week of June 24, 2024
All aboard the cute train! Choo Choo is this week's featured pet of the week and he earned his name by being found by the railroad tracks. We estimate he is just under a year old and he is now neutered. Choo Choo is a short hair white and tabby cat (check the comments for another photo showing off his markings!) He is a very friendly and affectionate boy who loves attention. We think Choo Choo would prefer human only company but he may be okay with another calm cat with a slow introduction.
For the week of June 17, 2024
This week we are featuring a bonded pair named Brennan (left) and Brody (right). Brennan is a short hair tabby and white cat and Brody is a medium hair grey and white cat. They were found wandering together and have not left each others' side so this bonded pair will need to be adopted together. We estimate they are around a year old and they are tidy, quiet, well behaved boys.
Good morning from Ashley and Molly B. Both sweet girls are still looking for a forever home
For the week of June 10, 2024
Molly B is an absolutely adorable girl with a short hair black and white coat and lots of little white whiskers. She is approximately 3 years old and is spayed. Molly B is a petite and amiable cat who would make a lovely pet. She is currently sharing a space with last week's featured cat, Ashley, and they seem to be getting along just fine so Molly B can likely be introduced as a second cat without much issue (as always, we recommend a slow transition with any new pet!)
Katy Hope is thriving in foster care and is still looking for her forever home. Sheβs young and confident but would need a slow introduction to other animals such as dogs and cats. It would be best for her to start out in her own space and slowly be introduced to any others.
A video of Katy Hope playing is in the comments!
