Through the gift of time, you come to see the true value of choices. A series of unhealthy choices today increases the likelihood of fear and despair at a later time, just as a willingness to make healthy choices today, sets the stage for a brighter more joyful tomorrow.

While such a shift in choice-making is not about trying to be perfect, the balance you are striving to cultivate is learning to make more healthy choices than unhealthy choices from one day to the next. Once your healing journey brings you into full awareness of the suffering you’ve endured and survived throughout your life, there comes a point in time where you are no longer willing to be an accomplice to your continual misery, but the one who liberates you from the plight of victimhood through the healthy choices you are destined to make. This is the heart of self-empowerment.
