So, it’s going to get colder soon. You should make sure you skincare routine is fit for the season. Here are a few tips on that:
>>> Use a thicker moisturizer.
It’s better to use a heavy cream with ceramides. They serve as a support system for your skin barrier.
>>> Add another layer of hydration. For example, a hyaluronic acid-based serum or sheet mask alongside with a heftier moisturizer.

What to do after laser hair removal.
Swelling and redness, should it appear after the treatment, should subside within 1-3 days. During this time, it’s safe to use aloe vera or topical cooling creams to reduce discomfort.
Your hair will not fall out immediately during treatment, but slowly over the following few weeks. Because each of our hair follicles are on separate growth cycles, it’s normal to experience some patchy re-growth. These areas will be treated at follow-up visits, until regrowth has been eliminated.
Make sure to follow these tips following your laser hair removal treatment session:
📌 Attend any scheduled follow-up or maintenance treatments.
📌 Avoid the sun (and tanning beds) and wear a high-quality sunscreen.
📌 For the first 24-hours after your appointment, avoid all types of heat. Hot showers or baths, saunas, steam rooms, and exercise can lead to discoloration or infection.
📌 Continue to shave, instead of plucking, tweezing, or waxing, if you need to remove hair between treatments.
📌 Gently exfoliate the treated skin 2-3 times per week using a loofah or washcloth. This minimizes the risk of developing ingrown hairs.
📌 Keep the retinoids and hydroxy acids on hold for up to one week after your treatment. Instead, use a gentle cleanser and soothing, moisturizing lotion. Wait at least two weeks before scheduling microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Botox or dermal fillers.
📌 Avoid using perfumes or deodorants for 48 hours after your treatment.

What to do before your laser hair removal appointment.
📌 Avoid plucking, waxing, or bleaching your hair for 6 weeks prior to your appointment.
📌 Shave the day before your treatment. Shaving removed longer hairs while keeping the root intact.
📌 Take a shower right before your appointment and clean the treatment area, making sure to remove dirt and oil from the skin.
📌 Avoid using skincare products with strong ingredients like retinoids, salicylic acid, hydroxy acid, and benzoyl peroxide.
📌 Avoid lotions, oils, and deodorants prior to treatment. Arrive to your appointment with clean, dry skin.
📌 At least 2 weeks prior to your appointment, refrain from Botox and dermal fillers. Also, avoid any treatments that increase skin sensitivity such as microdermabrasion or chemical peels.
📌 In the week prior to your appointment, discontinue products that cause photosensitivity.

Are you wondering what to do after a facial?
❌ Avoid picking at your skin because it is especially sensitive after a facial.
❌ Skip the heavy makeup and skincare products. You might want to cover redness from exfoliation or extractions with your heaviest full-coverage concealer. Resist. Your pores are more open than normal and therefore susceptible to more bacteria.
❌ Skip the toner. Do not apply toners to the skin for a day or two, especially if they are alcohol-based or contain exfoliating or astringent ingredients.
❌ Avoid sauna or steam room. Once you've had your facial, keep away from hot rooms of any kind for at least a day. Your skin has already been steamed to the max during your facial, and adding any more could lead to sensitivity and broken capillaries.
❌ Stay out of the sun. Because your skin has just been exfoliated it is more sensitive and vulnerable to the sun's harmful rays. And remember to wear sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day.
