One month postpartum update
The first three weeks were focused on rest and recovery post c-section.
Last week I started increasing my activity
Doing some stretching, gentle core rehab and walking outside.
I am still sleeping when she sleeps.
And being productive when I feel energetic.
Weight has almost returned to Pre-pregnancy weight (134.5lb) from 178lbs.
My scar has healed very well. There is still mild pain and tightness around it. So, activity and movement is based on how it feels.
This week, I will be focusing on increasing protein and maintaining my activity level.
40 weeks in vs 1 week out
With baby Maevis coming into our lives and changing our world my body has also undergone crazy changes in only one week.
This past week has been focused on meeting the needs of our sweet girl, catching zzz's and recovering from a c-section.
With good food, some gentle movement, sleeping when Maevis sleeps my body has been making huge adjustments.
Post surgery I had a lot of fluid retention in my lower body, which has gone.
My end weight with pregnancy was 178lbs - today I am 150lbs. (Pre-pregnancy was 125)
GOALS
- fuel my body as I am feeding a human
- sleep so my body can function
- slowly increase movement, focus on my core and return to the gym in 5/6 weeks
37 weeks along with Little Bean, just 3-ish weeks until they become the centre of our world.
We have spent the last 37 weeks preparing ourselves, our space and relationship to add this new life into ours.
We are so ready, yet I'm sure we are not ready at all for the how much our world will change.
We are on this journey together.

34 weeks along today that means only 6 weeks (ish) until we get to meet you.
Stay in there till Momma finished painting, and organizing.
Time is flying.
Pregnancy symptoms at this time have been insomnia, bedtime heartburn and restless legs (all these hit on random nights all together)
Just a Momma-to-be with her Momma.

That feeling when you get your maternity photos back from
Thank you for capturing the feeling of being pregnant, and all the anticipation of waiting for Little Bean's arrival.
Really enjoyed my workouts this week! Getting back into a routine with my biggest focuses being decreasing back pain, increasing mobility and increasing my stamina.
All while listening to my body, and the energy it has while growing this little bean.

29 weeks and growing ๐ฑ
11 weeks till you arrive in the world. Already you are kicking up a storm, flipping around and punching the heck out of my organs.
Reuben and I are so thankful for everyone who came out to celebrate at Bean's shower today.
We feel extremely fortunate for all our friends and family who also sent well wishes, love and gifts even if they couldn't make it today.
Bean is already so loved.
Little Bean is growing and showing more and more each week.
Their favorite pass time is kicking my bladder and demanding snacks at 4am.
Just over 3 months left till we get to meet you.

So grateful for all the food, fun and gifts that came together at today's family Baby Shower.

Enjoying the long weekend and the warm weather (now that we have an air-conditioned inside)
Keep growing sweet Little Bean.
Covid hit and honestly don't recommend.
It's been made much easier by having a snuggle lizard.
I feel like it was also made more difficult by being pregnant and not being able to take cold meds.
Positive little Bean will get all the antibodies.
Hope you had the happiest of birthdays today babe.
Your first bday off in several years. Hope you relaxed to the fullest.

Trail walks are my favorite ๐
With little bean on board workouts have changed into lower intensity, lighter and much shorter (and have been very infrequent).
But it feels so good to move my body, work towards a healthy back & core, improving mobility and flexibility and reducing risk of pregnancy complications.
With less than 22 weeks left its my goal to maintain a regular routine again. (While continuing to listen to the needs of my changing body)

There is nothing more relaxing than floating on my paddleboard and connecting to the little bean growing inside.
