Alright folks, now is the time to show your love for Mr. PG!
Our number one guy has been entered into Canada's Greatest Landmark contest. He's up against some pretty tough competition like a big tomato (lame), a giant fish (boring), and a giant $2 coin (yawn)... nobody's got a landmark quite as cool as ours!
Cast your vote for the big guy until September 1: https://municipalworld.mysocialpinpoint.com/municipal-world-landmark-contest

Everybody stay calm... summer weather is finally here!!!! ☀️
Ok, maybe we're freaking out a little. We're just so excited!
We're not expecting a heat wave quite yet but it is supposed to be pretty stinkin' warm so here are some tips to stay cool:
☀️ Enjoy the A/C at public places like the PG Public Library, the Aquatic Centre, Canfor Leisure Pool, shopping centres, etc.
☀️ Splash in the water park at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
☀️ Find shade at one of our many excellent city parks. Try Cottonwood Island, Forests for the World, Ferguson Lake, Nechako Riverside Park, Wilson Park... the list goes on and on and on!
☀️ Check in on your older neighbours, folks that live alone, people with pre-existing health conditions, people who are unhoused, etc. as they may need some extra help to cool down.
☀️ Wear sunscreen, a big ol' sun hat, and stay hydrated! Yes, we sound like your mother but we care about you, dude ❤️
We're keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and will work with local service providers to open cooling spaces if overnight temperatures reach 14 degrees or warmer.
Now is a great time to make and practice an emergency plan for extreme heat events with your household. Learn more on our website: princegeorge.ca/BeReady
Check out this local fundraiser🐾🦮
Starting this week, we will be open by donation from 4-8 PM every Thursday!
This is a pilot program we're testing this summer to gauge public interest. We’ve heard your feedback and are committed to making our facility more accessible to families.

Wishing you a safe and Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦
