my 1st born, graduated her hairstyling course from Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo in December ‘23 has now joined us full time and is steadily perfecting her craft daily

~the last time I did one of these. It was just my feet in the picture. I had hoped for another pair the next time around.

I never thought or expected for there to be 2 extra pairs !

Extremely grateful to be able to spend my days with these two beautiful people.
I genuinely wanted to show them my gratitude.
I’ve never had to think about or plan a Christmas party before. And what do you do for 3 people ? lol

I put the thought out semi sarcastically, that we should get tattoos instead.
And the consensus was “uh yeah!!!” Is that an option???

We spent the day together today,
-had an amazing breakfast at Garys Bistro
-Numerous coffees
-Walked around the QB farmers market
-Had a Rad convo with PD

And then the 3 of us settled in with the amazingly awesome and hugely talented Kanisha

Really had a great day walking the streets and interacting with our amazingly wonderful QB Townsfolk

And spending it with the 2 people who build me up and take care of me as well as dedicate themselves to their trades and customers.

2 years ago today & originally 2 Blocks up the street…I took a leap and a chance, and put it all on faith.

Here we are exactly 2 years from the day I opened the doors to Ocean Pacific, and on Memorial avenue.

We welcomed Brian Michell last month to the team, and our own Murphy started her hairstyling course at VIU Nanaimo.

In my wildest of dreams. I never anticipated we would be here 2 years later…. The future is bright at OPB, brings a tear to my eye to see where we are today and that my very own daughter is poised to take the company over one day and carry on the dream.

Thank you to our very loyal following of regular customers that have seen us thru to get us this far. And to the ones who continue to choose us for their first time or while they’re in Qualicum.

We Started February Welcoming Brian Michell to the OPB family!

Murphy changed gears and was accepted into VIU Nanaimo in Hairstyling and starts at the end of this month. (She graduates Dec ‘23)

So with that, I myself needed to step up his game! Haha.

A great team and amazing customers. Deserve the very best surroundings…

Grabbed us 3 new chairs, and let me tell you!! they are as comfortable as they are gorgeous.

We also added another station for when Murphy officially joins the team In the fall.

Amazing what a decent days work on a Sunday can achieve haha

As we draw an end to 2022, I would like to wish everyone who’s supported our little dream over the last year, a very happy new year.

You’ve made my dream of being a business owner a reality, and solidified my shop’s position at the gates to beautiful, QB

You’ve helped to support a small family in Oceanside, and given me time to perfect my craft, and grow the shop to what it is today

I know the wait to get into see me is longer as each day passes, with the support towards the shop growing.

I cannot thank you enough for your understanding and willingness to plan ahead and book forward for your space, it keeps the dream alive.

Is currently learning the trade of barbering, herself, & is half way thru her instruction course.
She has the rare opportunity to be mentored in Penticton BC
ONE on ONE with instructor , following the direct teachings of the (London School of barbering)
where we BOTH attended, and hold their curriculum in the highest regard.

They are focusing with her on straight razor shaving (a truly dying art),
Beard trimming, & fade blending

She will be starting Ocean Pacific Barber Co]
the month we turn 2yrs old (March 2023)

Where she will continue her apprenticeship under her own father. In the family shop.

Whoa!! 1 YEAR on MEMORIAL AVE ❤️🥳.

I almost missed it. (It was a week ago lol oops)

September 28th marked 1 year since I moved to our “beachy” blue building at the entrance of downtown.
what a memorable year it has been :))
And as we approach our 2 year birthday as a shop (in the new year)
I look back on all the faces and chats I’ve had, with great memories and extreme appreciation for allowing me to grow to where we are today

I know the wait can sometimes be longer than expected to get in these days, but to all those who choose to book ahead, I appreciate you all.

Thank you for making this place such a joy to open up everyday. But mostly thank you for making my dream, of having the kind of place people take pride in calling “their shop” a true reality.

Reluctantly, he needs to return to his own shop & family in Penticton. Catch him while you can until MAY 20/22.

He plans to return for Guest spots thru out the year. Keep your eyes peeled to social media for posts of his anticipated visits to VI & QB

Never in my wildest dreams when I set out to start this journey, did I think it would ever be quite like it is now.

From my humble beginning with a single chair on Beach Rd, to our current, planted Roots and Strength on Memorial Ave

I was able to expand within the 1st year, add a 2nd chair and stretch the company’s wings, to welcome another member into the flock

It’s been a wild couple of months on memorial avenue with and I wholeheartedly thank you for the talent you bring, the advice you give/teach, and mostly for the friendship we’ve grown over these past weeks /months

Personally, I’m cannot wait to see where this all leads. But in the meantime. I’ll continue to work as hard as I can to make this little shop, something not only I can be proud of, but you all can too !

So far, Qualicum Beach has never looked so Handsome.
…….And it’s only just the beginning!!
