A Note to Our Customers:

We want to take a moment to address a recent situation involving a purchase at our store, and clarify a few points for our valued customers.

On August 6th, a customer from Toronto came into our store and found a Joseph Ribkoff wrap dress that she had been searching for back home. She was attending a wedding at Rathtrevor Beach the next day and was thrilled to pair the dress with a matching clutch from our store. After the wedding, her Airbnb host came to return the clutch on her behalf on August 19th. When we explained our updated policy—store credit or exchange only—the host was unhappy and later posted negative comments about our store on Facebook.

We recently updated our return policy to offer credit or exchange only because we discovered that some customers were purchasing items for events and then returning them afterward. This is exactly what happened in this case, and why we had to make this difficult but necessary decision. Like many small businesses in our community, we work hard to provide quality items and service, and we appreciate your understanding.

Regarding the clutch, it was thrown on our counter and left behind, and it is still in our store. If it is not picked up by August 31st, we will donate it. We are no longer offering an exchange or store credit on the clutch, as it was clearly purchased for an event and attempted to be returned after.

Lastly, while we understand that everyone is entitled to their opinions, shaming and trashing a business on Facebook is not an acceptable way to resolve an issue. Our goal is to always treat our customers with kindness and respect, and we ask for the same in return. If anyone has concerns or questions, we are always available to discuss them directly.
