We have been kind of quiet as I took some time off while my kids are on spring break, as well I’m working on some logistics of the business!

This week went wayyy better logistically! We had a lot of questions about the price increases coming, I need to, but still want to make sure it is affordable for people to access.

It brings me great joy to know that while expanding our range of what we do, we are truly helping people. We have heard lots of stories on how this helps people from this taking a weight off seniors from not having to cook every night, from the mom that does all the cooking so this will give her a break, from single dads that don’t really like to cook but want to make sure their kids have home cooked meals, to people who work industry jobs that can bring these to work instead of getting fast food or eating cold sandwiches every day.

It is a joy every week to hear from people at pick up, one lady said to me “it’s the closest thing to home cooked without me having to cook it” … and as a granddaughter that was raised on home cooked meals, that makes me very happy.

So back to price changes …

Instead of bumping up every meal individually I am going to do “pick 4 for $45” (family sizes will stay the same price)… that saves me from having to have a weird amount to charge per serving. This doesn’t make it more profitable for us by any means, just covers the rising cost of packaging and a few other ingredients we use on a weekly basis.

Also, instead of raising the cost of each individual portion, we are going to try this week to make large sheet pans of each meal and portion them into the packaging instead of assembling individually before cooking.. this won’t change the portion size or anything really , it may just look a little different in the packaging. This allows me to do a lot more in a shorter time as each week our numbers grow for orders, we want to be able to serve as many people that need this service and not have to turn people away due to time restraints.

Well as some of you know I was home with my youngest son as he was sick yesterday… I have caught whatever he had. Needless to say you do not want me around your food. Anything scheduled for today will need to be moved until Monday or Tuesday. I’ll message everyone I was planning on meeting with and get that rearranged! Joys of being a very small team. Sorry to the few people I had scheduled today.

Good morning everyone!

I received a message from a senior couple last night that has ordered our take and bake meals before, both her and her husband ended up in the hospital for a few days, and in that time their fridge quit and everything in it has gone bad.

I am going to be going over and helping clean it out and get rid of it. BUT, since everyone was so incredible during Christmas I thought I would reach out and ask if anyone is willing to pitch in and donate to help get them a new one and get it filled up.

Of course we will be donating meals to help restock their freezer, any and all donations will go to helping get a fridge and fill it and any extras I will get them some grocery gift cards.

They are a very sweet couple with no family in town, they have been so kind to us and I want to be able to help them if we can!

What a great night!! Was awesome getting to meet and mingle with people in our community last night, get to watch and hear great things about our desserts at a presentation from Dragons Den’s Manjit Minhas put on by Community Futures North Cariboo … took away some valuable information from what she had to say.

Thank you to everyone who came up to me and told us how much you loved the set up and the taste of everything, that’s the reason we do this !

On that note, after 16 hours yesterday I am going to close my eyes for as long as they want to stay closed! (Will respond to messages later; get your preorders in for the take and bake meals.. just about sold out already had to up the numbers ! )
