Just an update, our clinic phone hasn’t been working for a couple weeks now. We have contacted Sasktel on numerous occasions and they have been neglecting us till now. They will be in tomorrow to hopefully fix the issue. Please email us at [email protected] or you can cancel or book online using our online booking. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to have our phone back up and running!
Hello, We are hoping everyone is enjoying this beautiful day!

To all our valued Clients, we will be opening May 19, 2020 amidst Covid-19. The Government of Saskatchewan has given us the go ahead of re-opening with guidelines in place. While the clinic has been closed, we thoroughly cleaned and sanitized all surfaces as well as completed some renovations. When you have an appointment your therapist will be wearing a face mask, scrubs and eyewear as part of the re-opening guidelines. We will continue to ensure that all client contact surfaces are sanitized between appointments and as always our strict personal hygiene measures will be upheld.
We are sad to announce that Faye Mintzler and JoAnne Hartney have decided to retire from massage therapy at Advance Therapeutic Massage Clinic. We wish them well in their future endeavors! Please feel free to book with any of our other talented therapists.

In keeping with the governments self-isolation policies if you have traveled outside the province or country or if you are feeling unwell please be considerate and cancel with in 24 hours for the safety of our therapists and other clients visiting our facility.
I wish to remind you that our established policy of charging for NO-SHOW appointments will be followed as this has been a particularly financially challenging time for the therapists and charged in full. Please provide 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment so we may rebook.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Study shows the amount of walking needed to improve knee function in osteoarthritis patients is 6,000 steps (3 miles) a day. This is less than the 10,000 steps previously thought to be optimum. http://goo.gl/pQiE0V
Study concludes that CranioSacral Therapy is effective in reducing pain, fatigue, anxiety and in increasing physical functioning and sleep quality: http://goo.gl/kbt54n
Esther Gokhale developed the Gokhale Method based on primal posture and believes that in the west we have lost sight of what constitutes healthy posture. She points to the fact that babies, our ancestors and some current cultures can move without pain. Here is one of the photo demonstrations she put together comparing bending postures of a child with adults in western and eastern cultures.
Here is the study that shows a great reduction in pain & stiffness alongside improved functionality in subjects with osteoarthritis of the knee. 66 subjects received a full body massage twice weekly for 4 weeks, then once weekly for 4 weeks while the control group received medication, exercise and hot/cold therapy. The massage therapy group found their pain and stiffness reduced by about 50%. It's interesting that for the study purposes the massage provided was to the full body. It is fair to suggest that outcomes could be even more significant if the massage targeted more specifically the knee and tissues of the legs. http://goo.gl/2YG2Jr
Research studies have shown that Therapeutic Massage is effective in reducing pain in osteoarthritis. This study looked at determining the "optimal-practical" application of the massage therapy - ie producing the greatest effect compared to cost and convenience. Results show one hour weekly to be better than 30 minutes twice q week. http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0030248

Exercising like a maniac isn't going to offset an entire day of sitting. Better to engage in "light ambulation" - moving around at regular intervals. You can be fat and fit, thin and unfit, but not sedentary and healthy. http://goo.gl/9CCWah
Why the sedentary life is killing us A new study underscores the sobering truth that inactivity is wreaking havoc with our health. The good news is that even light and simple movement will help
Here, Anat Baniel, a student of Feldenkrais and founder of the Anat Baniel Method, describes NeuroMovement. When movement is done automatically, we deepen existing neural patterns. When we combine attention with movement, our brain wakes up and creates new neural connections. Developing new neural networks helps us upgrade our thinking and foster creativity. http://goo.gl/v8LY9l
About Anat Baniel The Anat Baniel Method (ABM) has two modalities: group movement exercises and one-on-one sessions with a trained ABM practitioner.
Proven health benefits of massage therapy: the studies cited describe the effectiveness of massage in reducing pain post surgery as well as for cancer and rheumatiod arthritis patients.
