The less they know the better! This will force you to explain your issue in the simplest terms possible. By simplifying a problem or explanation, the solution will often present itself.

Today's writing tip was inspired by my friend , a fabulous artist and writer on Instagram.
As a devout bibliophile I have always found books to be a great source of inspiration. We can use our favourite stories as examples, learn from those authors and even take notes along the way about ways we can improve our own writing. Enjoy the process!

Continuing with my favourite writing tips: vary sentence openings! This is one of the basic things I look for when I'm proofreading and it's always in the back of my head as I write because variety keeps the reader interested! We don't want to read the same book, post, or top-ten list over and over, so we also don't want to read the same sentence repeatedly. Look over a paragraph, if you find several sentences starting with the same words challenge yourself to find new words or restructure the sentences. Expand your writing skills!

Good morning all! Today's writing tip: the thesaurus is your best friend! Avoid repetition and keep your reader interested by varying your word choices. You may wish to do this during the writing or editing stages of your process, whatever fits into your process! There are also a lot of great writing accounts on social media that routinely post lists of interesting synonyms, find one that inspires you!

Happy Sunday all! I hope you are having a lovely weekend. I'm often asked for writing tips, so here is one that I use daily: read your work out loud. When we read our own writing we tend to skip over our mistakes because we KNOW what it is supposed to say. When you read out loud you are more likely to catch awkward phrasing, missing words, ect.

Writing flows easier when you are inspired. Find a source of writing prompts that speak to you and use them as a jumping off point to get yourself writing. These prompts may be a word that sparks an idea, or a concept to explore, let them inspire you! There are countless accounts on social media that are a free source of writing prompts, I also suggest perusing online journals and contests that offer themes and prompts for your entry (bonus, you will then be ready to submit!)

I'm often asked for writing tips, so here is today's reccomendation:
Find prompts that inspire you to practice! I'm still fairly new to writing fiction and poetry, but I find that when I come across a good prompt and am inspired the words flow easily onto the page. There are many writing accounts on social media that give daily writing prompts, and many contests and publications that center around a particular prompt or theme. The poem that I mention above is my second peice chosen for publication by Forget-Me-Not Press, so I've found their themes really inspire me! Find what inspires you and enjoy the process!
