Baklava has a rich history that spans centuries and cultures…
Originating in the ancient Persian Empire, this sweet treat was enjoyed in royal courts and has since traveled through the Middle East, Türkiye, and beyond.
At Botté we craft our baklava with layers of delicate phyllo dough, filled with a mixture of finely chopped nuts and sweetened with fragrant rosewater syrup—a nod to our Persian roots.
Come enjoy a piece (or two!) with a warm cup of Persian tea and experience a tradition that’s as rich as the dessert itself.

We invite you to come and soak up what’s left of summer weather on our courtyard patio with a Blue Curacao Italian Soda or Persian Paradise Iced Tea.
We’re sorry to remind you that summer won’t last much longer 😉
Have you ever been curious about the proper way to say our name—Botté?
Quite simply, it sounds like “nice tea” in French (beau thé).
In English, it sounds like Boh-TAY with emphasis on the TAY!
In Farsi the term “boteh” (بته) literally means “shrub” or “bush”.
On summer nights like these, it’s never completely dark when we close up at 11:30pm. We love the lingering light of summer!
Are you a night owl?
We’re pleased to offer you a laid back, alcohol free evening environment to relax and socialize over a pot of tea, brewed for you hot or cold.
Open until 11:30 pm Wednesday - Sundays!

Whether you’re a saffron lover or a saffron novice, come to Botté for your fix of this special spice so adored by Persians everywhere.
What does it smell like?
When you first encounter saffron, the aroma itself is almost intoxicating. It has a rich, earthy fragrance with hints of hay and a touch of mineral sharpness. There's also a subtle sweetness reminiscent of a floral honey.
What does it taste like?
When eaten, saffron has many subtle layers: earthiness first. Then there’s a distinct but pleasant bitterness balanced by a delicate sweetness, and a faint mineral edge that adds to the richness with an unexpected twist. In the background, there's a whisper of spice heat and floral undertones akin to a field of spring flowers or hay.
We’ve done our best to describe it, but there’s only one way to really understand the complexity and uniqueness of this flavour! Come and taste for yourself
Brunch in our courtyard patio is where you want to be! Served daily until 2pm, our unique Persian fusion brunch is a perfect way to start a slow and sunny day off in summer!

don’t skip the yogurt dip!
Why are yogurt sauces so important to Persian meals?
Yogurt balances flavours and cleanses the palate between bites. Yogurt has been a staple in Persian cuisine for centuries, with its origins dating back to ancient times. Besides the probiotic benefit it adds to a meal, it also balances flavours and resets the palate between bites. It helps you taste your food!
We serve 3 staple yogurt sauces
Garlic and braised spinach
Beet yogurt dip
Dill yogurt dip
When you order your Persian family meal from the Persian Kitchen, don’t skip the yogurt dip! We promise it adds that little extra something to make a meal complete.
Are you ready to eat your way around the world? We know we sure are!

One of the most famous types of kababs in Iran is the Kabab Koobideh, made from ground beef mixed with grated onions and spices, then molded onto skewers and grilled to perfection. Another beloved variation is the Jujeh Kabab, featuring succulent pieces of marinated chicken, often served with grilled tomatoes and fragrant saffron rice.

We carefully curated every aspect of our space to offer not just food and drink but an experience that resonates deeply with the soul. In our little oasis, we hope you find solace and inspiration, and perhaps, like the whirling dervish, discover a deeper sense of harmony within yourself.
The whirling dervish art on our walls isn't merely decorative; it's a deliberate invitation to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Persian culture and spirituality.
The Sama dance with the whirling dervishes symbolizes a journey of transcendent meditation, spinning in ecstatic communion with the divine. Their dance embodies the essence of Sufi mysticism, reminding us to seek inner peace and spiritual connection amidst the whirlwind of life.
Life is short, eat dessert first... especially when it looks this good!
Join us for a sweet escape from the ordinary and indulge in a little slice of happiness.

If you’d like to try the kabab while you sit at Botté Chai Bar, order the Kabab Rice Bowl!
Traditionally, Iranian tea (like our bottomless house Persian tea) is brewed strong and served with sugar cubes, which are held between the teeth while sipping the tea.
This practice is known as “Ghand Chai” or “Ghand Chay” in Persian, which translates to “sugar tea.” It is a traditional way of sweetening tea and is often used as a method of controlling the amount of sugar added to each sip, manage the heat of the tea as it’s being sipped, and generally enjoy the sweetness.
Yes…Persians make an event out of every endeavour!
Spring flowers are just around the corner!
Embrace the blossoming beauty of spring with a sip of floral bliss! There's no better way to welcome the new season of renewal and rejuvenation than by indulging in the delicate flavors of floral tea.

In the middle of winter, may you be warmed and deeply nourished by a u s h…
This is a meal we could easily enjoy daily, especially through the winter. Have it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Have it at the Chai Bar, or order in from the Persian Kitchen.
Aush is a type of hearty soup or thick stew that often contains noodles, beans, lentils, herbs, and sometimes meat and can be completely plant-based, and hearty as a meal..
It has variations across different regions of Iran, and ingredients can vary widely based on personal preferences and local traditions. We always serve aush, rotating between 3 different recipes.
Our Aush can be ordered by the litre for delivery or pick up.
