Codi became interested in painting when his Vocational Support advised he try it! Codi has created a name for himself by painting characters from his favourite shows and video games over the course of many years and countless works. Painting by Codi is on show at SCYAP Community Art Gallery, 402 33rd St W, till December 11th, 2023. Viewing hours are 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please come by and look at the paintings, sign the visitor book, and leave a comment if you like.

Call for artists! The City of Saskatoon invites emerging and established artists in all disciplines to apply for a residency in the historic Bunkhouse at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo. This includes writers, composers, visual artists, musicians, theatre artists, video, multi-disciplinary, social practice, and performance artists.
The deadline to apply is November 15, 2023.

📢 Call for submissions: the City invites local emerging and established poets to submit poems for the Poetry Downtown project. The theme of the project is Kindness – acts of.
Poetry Downtown was inspired by a challenge from Parliamentary Poet Laureate of Canada Louise Halfe encouraging municipalities to bring poetry to public places. The project is a partnership with DTNYXE.
✍️ Ten poems will be selected and displayed on 28” x 48” posters in the directory boxes on 3rd Avenue in Downtown Saskatoon.
📝 Poems may be between 4 and 20 lines and will be on display from October 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.
💻 Poets may submit a maximum of three poems; a maximum of one poem will be chosen per poet.

Downtown Saskatoon is excited to welcome one of the Global Roots Mural Mosaics into the district at K.W. Nasser Plaza in River Landing. Join us on June 14th at 1 pm in the plaza for the unveiling of Downtown's newest art addition. Feel free to bring your painted tile for a selfie.
Global Root's project goal is to (re)connect the world with one painted tile, one tree, one community, and one country at a time. Mural mosaic art director and artist, Lewis Lavoie, has chosen a tree as the project's symbol of connection. Variations of the mural are located around the world, and now we have one within Saskatoon.

📢 The public is invited to visit the artist studios and gallery in the historic Bunkhouse at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo. The six artists currently in residence in the Bunkhouse are hosting a come-and-go exhibition of their work, in the Bunkhouse Pop-Up Gallery, on 🖌️🎨 Saturday, March 18 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
➡️ Visual artists Aarin Rinas, Emilie Neudorf, Jeanette Munroe, Jordan Baraniecki, and Kei Tanaka, and theatre artist Yulissa Campos will be welcoming the public to view their work. Their residencies began in June of 2022 and run until March 31, 2023.

Starting in early February, Common Weal Community Arts was pleased to see our partnership with Prairie Harm Reduction (PHR), the St. Paul's Hospital Healing Arts Program, and SCYAP begin. We have joined together to provide free Creative Art Sessions at the PHR drop-in centre every second Thursday.
Check out our awesome facilitators, Candice Grosenick and Terry Belisle, on their way to the first session on February 9 with a wagon full of art supplies.
