One of the oldest Canadian Insurance Companies provides you a repriced Quote for the Universal life insurance starting after the May 29th.
It will be some of the most competitive level cost of insurance (COI) rates to date with an overall average decrease of 4.5%. These changes will strengthen offering most in single life ages 40+.
This helps make insurance protection more accessible to you in need of lifelong coverage and a level cost of insurance. It also provides you with the flexibility that universal life insurance offers.
While there will be decreases for individuals under 40, there will be some increases as well, primarily for ages 18-29. It will be also introducing unique COI rates for joint lives; this means joint and single lives may not have equivalent rates. Joint lives will see an average increase of 1%.
This reprice provides a great opportunity to promote the many benefits offered by universal life insurance.

Re: WestJet and Swoop pilots strike.
The Union representing WestJet and Swoop pilots issued a 72-hour strike notice on May 15; and pilots could strike on Friday May 19, which may cause flight cancellations or delays.
This situation is now considered a known event and may impact travel insurance purchased, and trips booked after May 15 2023.
In a statement, WestJet indicated that any passenger impacted would be “refunded or re-accommodated, as applicable.”
• If you have purchased travel insurance, review your policy or certificate to see if you have coverage for Trip Cancellation due to a strike. There may be benefits for prepaid or non-refundable expenses not covered by the airline or other travel suppliers. Be sure to obtain documentation from the airline or travel supplier as proof these expenses are not eligible for refunds or compensation.
• Once these steps are complete, submit your claim via the your Travel Insurance company.
• Each claim should be accessed by Insurance company individually in accordance with the terms and conditions of your policy or certificate.
Disputes over refunds and credits should be directed to your travel service provider, transportation carrier or the Canadian Transportation Agency.
