Cribbage in the taproom!!

Starting Sunday September 15 we are hosting our eleventh crib tournament at

The $20 entry will include a pretzel and a pint of your choice. Each week there will be prizes, as well and a final winner on the final week of play and random draws.

This Fall 2024 Tournament will happen from September to the end of October and will be played over 6 weeks, excluding holidays and long weekends. Each Sunday games begin at 10:30 am for 90-120 minutes of play. We will have a round-robin each week to maximize diversity of play. Each week there are 3 games played. Games will happen on September 15, 22, 29 and October 6, 20 and 27.

We are taking a maximum of 24 players per week. To register for each or every week you can sign up in the taproom or email [email protected]. We cannot accommodate walk ins as we build the round robin ahead.

Our feature sandwich is brand new, but you just might live it. We’ve made our spin on a Buffalo Chicken Crunch Wrap. We’ve taken whole roasted chicken, dunked it in hot sauce, piled it into a wrap with cheese, ranch, tomatoes and lettuce with Doritos for crunch. We had a side of cheesy smashed potatoes, but choose whatever side is your favourite. Add a sleeve of Dog Parks and Rec Raspberry, and this lunch is complete.

🍎 Tis the Season! 🍎

With the calendar change to September and the return to school, it’s also crabapple picking season in our home. We love that we’ve taken this backyard favourite and turned it into a taproom favourite.

The crabapples we pick come from our very own backyard. In fact, when our family moved to Spruce Grove, the mature and healthy crabapple tree in the backyard was like a homing beacon for me.

As a tween my parents moved our family to Edmonton from central Alberta. In the yard of our Edmonton home was a big and mature crabapple tree. Every year at this time my brothers and I would climb the tree and pick and pick and pick the tree clean. My mom and her friends made crabapple juice, crabapple sauce and the dehydrator worked for days on end making fruit leather.

One year I believe we picked and processed over 30 five gallon pails of crabapples.

I don’t remember the exact year my parents removed that tree. I’m sure it was somewhere around the time I graduated, because I can promise I did stop helping. Now I pay my dues with the girls and we pick our own tree. My parents had a good laugh that we bought a house so I could have a crabapple tree again.

The crabapple tree at my parents house is long gone. Both my parents have passed away in the past three years and their house sold this summer, so another family gets to make memories there. I can’t help but smile and think its too bad they don’t get that old tree.

We love our kids, but we are always happy for the return to school and fall routine! Our feature sandwich is a BBQ Beef on a Bun. We’ve braised some AAA Alberta beef in BBQ sauce and spices and topped it with BBQ aioli, and sliced dill pickles in a sesame seed bun. We had a side of BBQ pasta salad, but choose whatever side is your favourite. Add a sleeve of Astro Galaxy Pale Ale, and lunch is out of this world.

Here we have Frank 🌈, Pepper, Luna and Annie 🌈

Annie was our first dog, and she was our baby for many years. She loved walks, swimming, the ocean and loved children most of all. She inspired us to have our taproom as a local watering hole, a place we hoped that would bring family, friends and their dogs together. She was our Talking Dog and we love that her memory lives on through the taproom.

Our Off Leash Non Alcoholic Pale Ale is now on tap. All of the beer, none of the bite. This brew is a refreshing and light beer with subtle hints of citrus and coconut. The citrus notes provide a bright and zesty flavor, while the coconut adds a creamy and tropical undertone. With a crisp and clean finish, this pale ale is a delicious and satisfying choice for any occasion.

This week we have a Chicken Quesadilla. We’ve taken our TexMex chicken, added sautéed peppers, onions and house cheese and seared them in a large flour tortilla.
