Prototype parts are rolling on the laser pistol!

This build is colour coded, grey parts will be CNC machined aluminum. Brown absolutely resin or nylon (TBD), and black printed.

Side project: Bone vampire nightlight for a precocious five year old.

Really happy to be working on a new project. This joint venture with the very talented Gabe Zeringue to bring the AEP9 Laser Pistol from FALLOUT to life is well underway.

Highlights include:

- Many cnc machined parts (AL6061)
- Functional moving parts
- Full electronics kit

Currently wrapping up initial design work and quickly moving into prototyping. This will be a limited run initial release once permission from the rights holder is secured.

Great to be back in the saddle again :)

The order period for the SNW "Big Damn Hero" Phaser kit is closing on the 6th, thanks to everyone who placed an order.

Small update, happy to share that the crispy parts are being upgraded from waterjet cut to cnc machining for production method. CNC machining bring an extremely precise finish to the end product, and while the OG waterjet cut part was pretty nice, this is just fantastic!

Also, an additional part is being added to the kit for cnc machining- the selector switch. This part will be produced in aluminum and anodized black. As it's a wear part, use on a printed component could cause paint to wear off, so this improvement should mean a much sharper prop for years to come.

Completed some tweaks to the SNW Phaser emitter assembly tonight in preparation for the run closing next week.

The tip of the emitter assembly was thickened slightly by 0.2mm for more accurate appearance. As well, the depth of the nested parts was also adjusted to be more true to the screen prop.

As the Aug 4th date for closing the phaser order draws near, work is progressing on reviewing all the components and making some small tweaks for accuracy based on new reference material. So far, the indicator assembly has seen small changes (indicator light ring and button cap both stand approx 0.5mm proud vs flush in the first release) as well as the P2 lugs, which are 0.2mm thicker in diameter now.

Interesting small job, combadge boxes.

Demo unit! This is what can be done in an afternoon with this kit. Also, managed to fit an 800mah battery inside vs the 400mah battery initially planned, so hooray!

(Case stickers are being fedex'd in, expect them to land in a few days to take care of that typo)
