It’s finally done. This project started as a simple garden enhancement job and grew to a serious hardscaping task with a stacked paver edge and paver slab walkway. We certainly grew our skill and knowledge about landscaping on that one. Although it wasn’t a 10/10, the client being happy makes this project a success.

This bed cleanup took a lot of effort and dedication as we had to handpick the rocks to be saved for later…Plus they were about 6-7” deep. Got rid of the w**d infestation, removed a couple of dead shrubs and brought in premium topsoil from The Black Dirt Company to raise the ground level.

To minimize w**ds coming back we put down 2 layers of landscape fabric before filling in the rocks we had stored in totes in the meantime. This job was only possible with the dedication and determination of Gardening

This bed was ridden with thick grass roots under the fabric. Pulled up almost a whole wheelbarrow. Next step is to put down a double layer of new fabric and then rocks on top.

Last week I travelled down to Louisville, Kentucky, for the Equip Expo. This is the biggest trade show in North America for Lawn and Landscape professionals.

Clover running rampant on the city sidewalk. This is one of those scenarios that make me cringe. While a natural lawn is totally cool, an unkept natural lawn just gives bad vibes.
