We had a great time today alongside around 50 individuals during A Happy Place: a family event for our trans, gender non-conforming and q***r community. This event was a community-led event hosted at AMAL Wellness Centre that had gender affirming hair cuts from .unstyled , .stylesnl and , acupuncture by , photo sessions by Project Power Back , drawing table from , snacks from The Nook and Cannery and Drag Story Time with us, Writers NL and local drag star Ophelia Delight .

Show yourself some love and join myself and Jen Cake for a night of self-care at the AMAL Wellness Centre on February 14th. We will begin with a guided Gua Sha facial, and then flow into receiving a relaxing and restorative Acupressure and Reiki treatment. Bolsters and blankets will be provided to keep you extra cozy and comfortable. Each person will get their own Jade Gua Sha tool and natural face oil to take home with them. Refreshments will be provided throughout the evening.

Creating safer spaces for the q***r community is extremely important. It gives us a place to be ourselves without judgement and allows us room to speak our truths and build stronger supports in all of the ways. Remember, Love IS Love.

We have a sliding scale because affordability and accessibility are very important to us. We want you to be able to come in as often as you need in order to feel better. Receiving regular and frequent treatments is key to achieving your health goals. We charge $20-60 per treatment with an additional $15 admin fee for your first visit only. You pay what you can afford. No questions asked!

I can’t believe it’s been 1 full year since we opened the doors to the St. John’s Community Acupuncture Clinic.

When I began my journey into Traditional Chinese Medicine, I knew I wanted to offer accessible and affordable acupuncture to my community. I was living in Ontario when I began my first Community Acupuncture Clinic that ran out of my business Wild Heart Healing Arts Space. When COVID hit, I came back home to Newfoundland, which was only supposed to be for 6 months tops! As months went on, I found myself reconnecting to this beautiful island and moving away from it became a very distant thought. I dreamed what it would be like to run a Community Acupuncture Clinic in the place I grew up. That dream led me to meeting the right people who shared similar values (AMAL Wellness Centre) and St. John’s Community Acupuncture Clinic was born!

Thanks to everyone’s support over this past year. I’m humbled to have gained such amazing patients and friends along the way.
