Jormungandr Cacao

Happy Imbolc!

In Norse mythology, Jormungandr is the snake that encircles the world. The spawn of the trickster god Loki and the giantess Angrboda, Odin cast from Asgard the serpent as well as two other of Loki and Angrboda's children. Taking it easy in the world's oceans, Jormungandr grew so large that he could eventually start flossing his teeth with his own tail.

The skalds say that Jormungandr and Thor are going to have it out in one final battle when Ragnarok comes. There's lots of hammer smashing and fatal poisoning and woe besetting the Asgardians. It's true - our Norse forebears had this dragon painted as a pretty grim fellow. Thankfully for folk like you and me, it seems that Jormungandr is actually a pretty cool guy who doesn't mind leveling up his universe with a nice hot mug of ceremonial cacao.
