Church of the Good Shepherd would have to be one of the most photographed items in New Zealand! It has out of this world views over Lake Tekapo and truly is a world-renowned astrophotography hotspot.
This particular night we were unbelievably luckily catching a stunning Aurora as well as the milky way! The aurora lasted multiple hours and there were over 100 people crowded around the church with cameras, trying desperately to get in on the action!!
We will never forget this! We are aiming to get back to Tekapo this month! 😃
Anyone else been to this amazing spot?

BROMO OPEN FOR THE WORLD
Bromo again, Bromo again. I hope yours don't get bored for all the Bromo images by me, because I live not far from Bromo and it's like a backyard to me.
Bromo is ancient area multiple calderas within calderas.
This image is blending. I took the foreground after dawn at the blue hour moment, sky shot before dawn. And this image is also information for the public that now Bromo has been reopened to the world, after being closed for more than 6 months during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Greetings from Mt. Bromo, East Java, Indonesia, amazing landscape like a fairyland !

I went to this waterfall on the morning to take a couple of photos for a job, but when I saw it and realized it was pointed to the west, and the milky way would be exactly at the top at the beggining of the night, instantly this shot came to my mind. So I waited... waited the whole day there, just to try this shot.
I set the headlamp to light the waterfall, and when I started to shot, I don't know what happened to my camera, but it wouldn't show the pictures I took on the display, so I kind of did the whole pano without actually seeing the result of each single photo. I was just praying to not mess up while moving the camera to the next photo, because the MW's core was almost gone and I wouldn't have many chances.
Gratefuly I could stitch the photos together and got really happy with the result. Hope you guys enjoy.

THE ORIGIN OF STARS?
Now I know why there are so many stars in the night sky. And I now know even where those stars are coming from. They are all from Narrabri. Look! the radio telescope is ejecting tons of stars and planets into space. hahaha... sorry for a not-funny joke.
ENJOY THE VIEW!

"The Peak"
I haven’t put this much work into a shot before!
A 180-degree panorama from Peak Hill, New Zealand.
I believe this could be the first Astro taken from up here.
The Carina Nebula can be seen at the top of the sky, Large Magellanic Cloud to the right, and some awesome airglow from atomic oxygen excitation near the horizon.
I had a crazy idea, hike up Peak Hill with most of my photography equipment for panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. I was 10 minutes into the extremely steep hike when I realised my 26.5kg bag was too heavy, but I had to keep going, I had to complete my plan. It was a slow grind over 2.5 hours with quite a few stops, the start of the track just goes straight up, with marble-like rocks on hard clay, making the track very slippery (coming down was a lot worse and I took a couple of spills but was fine)
I finally made it to the top, only to have the wind pick right up, there needs to be virtually zero wind when shooting long exposures, tracked panoramas are no exception.
This shot was my third attempt, I started the image sequence and the wind suddenly dropped! It stayed that way for 40 minutes, just as I completed the last frame of the panorama the wind hit hard, I was so lucky to be able to pull it off.
Then it was time to leave, the sky was getting brighter and I began my descent.
This one-shot took 4 hours of driving, 5 hours hiking, 7 hours standing on the hill, and 8 hours putting it all together, painfully stitching and blending the shots.
38 shots stitched – Ended with around 650 megapixels of resolution

In the Arctic every night is a different dream.🧚♂️
On a cold night in January before the Northern Lights exploded in the sky, I decided to observe and immortalize the starry sky above one of the most beautiful and famous places on these islands.
Below our galaxy you can see from left to right, Orion, my favorite winter constellation, Mars with its warm color and another galaxy, that of Andromeda.

The beginning of the astronomical dawn usually marks the end of the shooting for the astro landscape photographer as the Milky Way and its wonderful colors is quickly fading . But this short period in between the night and the very beginning of the new day has always been a very special moment for me. It is probably the most calm time of the day and somehow „soothes my soul“:
When the tension of the shooting drops and you look back at what you experienced the last night and you expectantly look forward into the new day. The first light, barely perceptible to the eyes at the very beginning, which hesitantly displaces the night and a few moments later bathes the landscape in a soft blue, is like a promise for the start of something new.
For most people, the beginning of a new day is something quite routine and taken for granted, but for me this brief and fleeting moment between „both worlds“ is always very special.
Digging and building the „Panzerknacker“ Bivy was a lot of fun; this is the most common alpine technique to spend a night in the snow without a tent, as it is the quickest way to dig a snow cave
