Today took us to some pretty cool stuff. We started out in Tobermory,and went to Toronto via Wasaga beach. Some beautiful driving roads, and a trip down the 401 into Toronto that was as good a prep time as you could have for Targa Newfoundland. At one point I was doing 130, and people were passing me.
Finished off with CN Tower and a Blue jays game.
Here’s some highlights of the day.

Travelled to Tobermory today Got messed up by Ferry schedules so lost 4 hours of travel time. Oops. Anyways, had a great trip. The run from Sault Se Marie to Tobermoray is absolutely fantastic. Good part about missing the ferry we wanted to be on, we got the sunset cruise

Today’s adventure had us travelling the north shore of Lake Superior. That thing is huge. Didn’t get too many photos, we have really cool GoPro footage we will get put up here.
Hers a couple highlights.

This ‘40 Ford came in with a list of upgrades and repairs that were needed, and a few more added along the way.
We wetsanded, polished and waxed the body which gave it such a beautiful shine and reflection like its never had before.
We corrected many mechanical issues and performed some upgrades as well.
Having completed them all, it doesn’t just look great, it now drives beautifully as well. Driving this beauty now, you’d never guess how old it actually is.

Our priority is always safety and reliability, so we know this client will get many years of worry free enjoyment from it.

Day 4 done. Winnipeg to Thunder bay. We were dodging rain all day. Ran pretty much the entire day with the roof down. There were some pretty ugly clouds circling us but the never actually did anything.
Beautiful drive down Hwy 71 and 11 through Kenora and Nestor falls. Stopped a Kakabeka falls. just before Thunder Bay. If you ever find yourself out this way take those roads.
Highlights of the day; Finding out where the center of Canada actually is, lol. 2 beautiful
Waterfalls, and helping Dee get his reps in by the water at Nestor falls. He is determined he will learn to swim. (Yes there is a story there) Figures bulking up will help him.

One of the many services we provide is installing vehicle tracking units.
These trackers show where the vehicle is at all times, even if the ignition is off.
For example, this picture shows were Kurt and Lu are in their 1965 Beaumont, while they are driving across Canada.
The screen shows exactly where the car is. It provides Longitude, Latitude, Elevation, speed, etc. so if it was a stolen car, we could notify the authorities of the cars exact location, even if it was being driven, trailered or in a shipping container, etc.

Halfway across Canada! Somehow it seems there is a lot more road ahead of us than behind.

Today was great day of family visits. Spent some time with Lu’s family in Swift Current and Regina. Ended up at my (Kurt) cousins place in Winnipeg. Saw a cousin I hadn’t seen in about 40 years. Die hard car guy.
He showed me pictures of his 74 Bossa Nova. This thing was one of about 35 ever made. Crazy rare car. Sadly it got totalled. The only picture he still has of it is when it was wrecked. I’ll put a pic in the comments.
So far it’s been main hiways, making time and seeing people. Tomorrow we start sight seeing on our way to Thunder Bay.

Here is more information on one of the towns Targa is taking place in.
It’d make a great tourist destination.

Day two in the books. Got a bit of a late start on day one, funny thing with road trips, something always seems to pop up last minute. But we got back on track on day 2, just meant less stops for touristy type stuff. So, it was late dinner with family tonight, and an early wake up to hit Winnipeg tomorrow.

What's all Targa Newfoundland hype about?
There's an easy answer! It's the toughest tarmac rally in North America. What more do we need to be excited about this event?
You're blasting though small towns, on narrow, bumpy roads, with hills and extremely sharp corners while (depending on the class) you're averaging 140 kph where the posted speed limits are 30 - 60 kph. The roads are closed to the public during the event but you never know when a goat or other animal is going to cross your path.
