Remembering the victims of the Kelowna crane collapse July 12th, 2021
Request for your support and participation for the memorial tribute Kelowna Crane Tragedy.
On July 12, 2023, Syber Concrete Forming Ltd. will be holding a "moment of sound your horn" to honour the 5 workers who lost their lives in Kelowna's tragic crane collapse two years ago on July 12, 2021. We feel it is important to recognize this tragedy and show our support to the families and loved ones of those who passed on this fateful day.
We invite you to help us spread the word and it is our hope that this can become an annual province-wide ceremony so we can all honour and treasure the lives lost. It also serves to remind us all of the importance of safety for all our workers in this industry.
Our plan is to sound our crane horns, starting at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 12, 2023, for 5 seconds for each life lost; Eric Stemmer, Patrick Stemmer, Cailen Vilness, Brad Zawislak and Jared Zook.
We would love for you to create a plan ahead of time, to work with other trades and companies to have the ceremony start at 11:00am. This could take up 20 - 30 mins to get crew to stop work.
As a visual commemoration, our cranes at our various jobsites in the lower mainland of Vancouver will also be hoisting up 5 Hi-Vis vests - one for each worker, simultaneously with the sounding of the crane horns. We are sharing this with you as we encourage you to do the same or hang 5 vests outside your workplace or create your own unique way to pay tribute to these 5 loved individuals and their families.
Thank you all in advance, it means a lot to us and it will mean even more to families.
Swipe right, to view the stickers that we have available. We have limited quantity of stickers left so we will do our best to accommodate you. If you would like stickers they can be picked up at our Head Office. please send us a DM if you’re interested.
